Clinton's failed war on terror
Washington Times ^ | 11/19/04

As he prepared for yesterday's opening of his presidential library, Bill Clinton was, true to form, spinning about his herculean efforts to stop Osama bin Laden and other jihadists. As Mr. Clinton told ABC-TV's Peter Jennings in this rambling, somewhat defensive-sounding explanation of his record: "If you look at the 9/11 commission's report about what we did, and how we prepared for, we had the 9/11-style threats for the millennium. And the extent of our preparations, and the work we did, the number of terrorists we brought to justice, the 20 al Qaeda cells we broke up, if you look at all that, and the fact that we apparently came closer to getting bin Laden than anybody has since, even though they have a lot more options — military options — than we had. I wish I had gotten him."

What Mr. Clinton neglected to mention, however, is that during his eight years as president, he failed to make effective use of the many options that were available to him in combating bin Laden and other terrorists, making September 11 much more likely. In his book "Losing Bin Laden," investigative journalist Richard Miniter documents some of the Clinton administration's policy failures.
From the beginning, it was apparent that intelligence matters were not a priority for Mr. Clinton. James Woolsey, CIA director during Mr. Clinton's first two years in office, was never able to get a one-on-one meeting with Mr. Clinton.

[snip]

The reality is, Mr. Clinton's self-serving spin to the contrary, myriad errors of omission and commission by his administration weakened this country's response to the al Qaeda threat and made the horror of September 11 much more likely.

Six victims of the 1993 World Trade Center bombing were unable to attend the opening of Clinton's lie-brary. They are dead. Also unable to attend the ceremony was courageous author Barbara Olson, who was murdered eight years later at the hands of the same terrorists Clinton claims he was so effective at confronting. However, even if she had survived, I'm sure Mrs. Olson would've had something much better to do with her time than to grace a pig like Clinton with her presence at a celebration of corruption in Arkansas.

HOW CLINTON'S ADMINISTRATION HELPED CAUSE 9-11

Mohamed Atta is thought to be the ring leader among the 19 hijackers who carried out the September 11 attacks. Prior to the attacks, Atta, like the other hijackers attracted little attention. They arrived in small groups, used post office boxes for addresses and opened bank accounts with cash. They wrote few checks and there were no rent, utilities or car payments to track government analysts have found. The relative anonymity of the attackers highlights the difficulty in identifying and stopping terrorists before they strike.

Terrorist pilot Mohammad Atta blew up a bus in Israel in 1986. The Israelis captured, tried and imprisoned him. As part of the Oslo agreement with the Palestinians in 1993, Israel had to agree to release so-called "political prisoners".

However, the Israelis would not release any with blood on their hands.

The American President at the time, Bill Clinton, and his Secretary of State, Warren Christopher, "insisted" that all prisoners be released. Thus Mohammad Atta was freed and eventually thanked the US by flying an airplane into Tower One of the World Trade Center. This was reported by many of the American TV networks at the time that the terrorists were first identified. It was censored in the US from all later reports.

If you agree that the American public must be made aware of this fact, pass this on. Link

Clinton paved a road that led up to 9/11. He swept everything under the rug and left Bush to do the cleaning.

Yet when I do a google search, I find that some sites say it's true and others say it's not. Any suggestions to find out for sure? Don't get me wrong, I am in no means defending that slimball. I just want to know for sure.

You hit the nail on the head when you said some sites say it's true and some say it's not. The liberal media hesitate to place blame on Clinton so we are left to seek out other sources of information all of which are usually discounted for not being mainstream. The fact is, Clinton could have taken bin Laden into custody but didn't. Had he, it's almost certain 911 never would have happened.

This article from MSNBC tells of how Clinton could have killed bin Laden and didn't, though it does seem to back away from that asseretion toward the end.

And this aricle tells of how the Sudanese offered up bin Laden to Clinton but he refused to take him.

On more than one occasion Clinton had opportunity to get bin Laden and didn't. Had he, 3000 innocent Americans would still be alive, there would be no war on terror, and we probably would never have invaded Iraq.

Much more than 3000. Don't forget the first trade centre bombings, the USS cole, the Embassy bombings, etc. Clinton did a fine job alright... of doing nothing. He did bomb an aspirin factory, and he did bomb the wrong side in the Balkans, overthrew a legitimate pro- American government in Haiti and installed a murderous psychopath in Haiti, which has led to it's problems today. Oh yea, Clinton did a fine job of screwing up our intelligence gathering as well. Let's not forget North Korea as well, he did a fine job there too. Yet the left worship the idiot.
