O Great and Gracious Heavenly Father,

Your goodness and mercy astound us! Through Your promises to us, true and eternal, we know hope and joy. We know the peace that passes understanding, for we know that You will always be with us, whatever trials we may face. You have blessed us through Your Word, through the fellowship of believers, and especially through the loving sacrifice of Your beloved Son and our Savior. Lord, we praise Your name and ask that You lead us through each day, keeping us on the path of righteousness that we may glorify You with our thoughts, words, and deeds.

Father, we thank You for the leadership and the faith of President George W. Bush. We rejoice in his loyalty to his family and to his marriage vows and in his great love for our nation. We praise You that You have chosen a leader for these times who has vision and is filled with optimism, believing that the best is yet ahead for America and for the world. Give him the courage and the determination to press onward with his goals of spreading freedom to parts of the world that have only known oppression. Infill him with Your wisdom; with strength for his difficult tasks; with comfort for the heavy burdens that he bears. We thank You for Your protection for him and his family as they face dangers and threats every day. Hold them in the palm of Your hand and keep them safe.

Our thoughts and our prayers are constantly with our troops, especially those who fight the brutal terrorists gathered in pockets of resistance in Iraq and Afghanistan. Let them always be aware of Your presence with them. Pour out Your healing balm on those who have suffered physically or emotionally from the ravages of war. For those who have lost loved ones, be their Pillar of strength and their refuge as they face the days ahead.

Lord, we seek Your forgiveness for our nation. The media speak of 'quagmire' -- the real concern should be the swamp of moral decay into which many in our country have fallen. Restore in America a desire to honor Your name, to revere life, and to follow Your commandments. In the name of Jesus. Amen.

STANDING ON THE PROMISES

Standing on the promises of Christ my King,
Through eternal ages let His praises ring,
Glory in the highest, I will shout and sing,
Standing on the promises of God.

Refrain
Standing, standing,
Standing on the promises of God my Savior;
Standing, standing,
I’m standing on the promises of God.

Standing on the promises that cannot fail,
When the howling storms of doubt and fear assail,
By the living Word of God I shall prevail,
Standing on the promises of God.

Refrain

Standing on the promises I now can see
Perfect, present cleansing in the blood for me;
Standing in the liberty where Christ makes free,
Standing on the promises of God.

Refrain

Standing on the promises of Christ the Lord,
Bound to Him eternally by love’s strong cord,
Overcoming daily with the Spirit’s sword,
Standing on the promises of God.

Refrain

Standing on the promises I cannot fall,
Listening every moment to the Spirit’s call
Resting in my Savior as my all in all,
Standing on the promises of God.

Refrain

Your prayer was beautiful, sister Kayak, and the song lovely.

Our Merciful Savior,

Here we are, our Beloved Master; Your children are Gathering to Praise Your Name. Please Fill us with Your Presence as we Bow before You, our hearts and our hands are Raised to the skies. O Lord, how can we Thank You for All You have Done? While we were dead in our sins, You Breathed New Life into us, Raising us from the Grave, to Seat us Heavenward with Christ. All the Praise, Honor and Glory for our Salvation Belongs to You, O Sovereign Savior, O Giver of Spiritual Life.

We Remember our President before You now, Great King, Thanking You for his Godly Leadership and Excellent Character, and his Sincere Patriotism and Fervent Love for our America. We Plead that Your Spirit of Grace will be his constant Counsellor and Guide, and the Precepts of Christ will be Foremost in his Life. Our Heartfelt Desire, O Glorious King, is that our brother-President will be a Beacon to the Lost, a Signpost Pointing the Way to Salvation in Jesus Christ. We Believe You have Fitted him for this, Sovereign Lord, and we Pray Earnestly for the Delivery of many souls into his hand. Grant this, my God, that he may Place these souls at Your Feet, to the Eternal Praise and Adoration of Your Electing, Sovereign Grace.

Our Military Weighs Heavily on our minds, Sweet King, as they Bring Justice to the seat where satan dwells, Placing their lives on the line to Keep our America Safe. Guard them Constantly, O Warrior King, Clothing them in Your Own Battle Armour, and Outfitting them with Weapons of Heavenly Might. Comfort and Heal those who are Wounded in the Battle, and Reward them Abundantly for the Labor they're Doing for us all.

Send Revival to our Nation, Great King of America, and Grant Your Eternal Peace and Salvation to our beloved Israel. Receive our Gratitude, our Worship and our Praise, and Hear our Prayers, O Majestic Master, for the Sake of our Christ, and for Your Eternal Glory. In Your Name Most Blessed we Praise You, amen.

Dearest Lord:

We thank You for Your hand on this election. We thank You for the results and for convicting all those who voted for President Bush. We who know You, know President Bush is a man of God and We thank You for giving us this leader.

We pray protection for President Bush, our military and our leaders. I feel that good is winning over evil and I give You all the praise for that. Your our hope and our future and without You we are nothing. I pray for those who dispise President Bush, I pray for their hearts and their minds that they will realize that He is not what they say He is and they will turn from their confused ways.

Lord, I ask You send a revival of love and forgiveness across our world. I ask You let that begin in me, and that people will see You in me and Others will see what differance having You, Lord of my life, will want what others like me have.

I pray for the Military we have in Iraq, protect them, and let those who have hate in their heart wither in their anger. I pray that the media will decide to tell the truth and stop pushing their agendas.

I also ask blessings on the people who come to this site and those who share the love of You. Your awesome Love and Hand of Compassion is out there for all of us, we just have to Ask and Receive.

In Your most precious name I pray,
JFC

BTW, kayak, I am still reeling from reading this thread today. Perhaps we could devote one of these threads to advanced prayers for those young guys returning from having witnessed these horrors? It's not to early to start praying for their healing now - even before they finish the job.

It's sad, but we may never be able to hold a ticker tape parade after the WOT, because it may be decades of beating back this hatred. However, I sure hope our returning forces from both Afghanistan AND Iraq are recognized in a VERY big way at some point.
