It sounds like the sign was INSIDE the building, not outside.

I take it you are a big believer in the public pronouncements that Zarqawi makes. I guess that meas that even though Zarqawi fought against us in Afghanistan along with many other people who were part of Al Qaeda, Zarqawi didn't actually become a member of Al Qaeda until he put out his official Al Qaeda press release to that effect.

On the other hand, I think the logical approach would be to apply Occam's Razor which in the American vernacular gets translated as follows:

If it looks like a duck and quacks like a duck -- it is a duck.

As I do you as well (for your service). This was the place where these headhunters filmed their snuff videos with that sign in the background.

If you ever get a chance to travel to the middle east check out a Damascus phone book. They have listings for Hezbollah, Hamas all of the terror groups. Its unreal.

I wonder what it looked like before the bombs fell. Could it have been an architectural metaphor for a "bridge to the seventh century?"

Kick ass, guys! Good job. No wonder the old media is looking for negatives news to report. Our troops' success is something they aren't ready for.

Apparently yes, although it's from England and not Iraq. Do a Google image search on Secret Bunker.

So doesn't that mean that Al Qaeda was in Iraq before we invaded?

Well, no, of course not, and here's why. (According to the left.) See, it's very tricky: before we invaded Zarqawi was in Iraq but he wasn't "in" Al Qaeda. And now he is. So it's all our fault that he "joined" Al Qaeda.

Apparently if we hadn't invaded Iraq, Zarqawi would be managing a Starbuck's or something. Like I said it's all very confusing & I don't pretend to understand it, but I do try... ;-)

I can just see a couple of liberal idiots sitting at an upscale coffee bar on the upper east side wondering aloud...

Idiot #1: (puzzled) What would make someone go from lattes to beheading people?

Idiot #2: The same thing that would make a leader of a third world country crawl into a hole. George Bush!

Idiot #1: (sprays latte all over himself) George Bush! Poor Saddam, poor Zarqawi...driven to such extremes because the Bush family wants to profit from oil. I mean, Zarqawi HAS to behead people to even get NOTICED by the mainstream media.

Idiot #2: And don't forget Osama Bin Laden...we have deserved everything we have gotten from the rebel fighters. Bless their hearts, they are trying to make a living, the same as anyone else, and George Bush sends bombs over to Iraq to kill them so that the United States and the Bush family can take their oil. Now they have nothing!

Idiot #1: (stirring a packet of Sugar in the Raw into his half-caf, no foam, skinny latte with a shot of Creme de Cacao) I can understand wanting to behead people because of that. I really feel their pain.

Idiot #2: Who can help but feel their pain? All they want is to worship freely and not have Western (makes quote gesture with two fingers) "values" imposed on them.

Idiot #1: I wonder if we can get one of our professor friends to translate "We Shall Overcome" into Arabic?

Idiot #2: Are you thinking what I'm thinking?!? CANDLELIGHT VIGIL!!!

"why is zarqawi always refered to as a Jordanian?"

Because Jordan is the only Arab nation that made the Palistinian refugees from Israel's formation and subsequent events citizens. He was born in Jordan, he's a citizen of Jordan, despite having been born of Palistinian parents.

jordan was part of the british mandate and refered to as "palestine" therefore, it was palestine before it was jordan. jordan, the country was a gift to the tribe of the hashemites. bakshish, payoff arab style.
