PAT LaMARCHE, 2004 GREEN V.P. CANDIDATE, TO SPEAK ON THE OHIO RECOUNT AT RALLY NEAR WHITE HOUSE

Rally organized by ReDefeatBush at LaFayette Park in Washington, D.C., Friday, November 19 at noon

WASHINGTON, D.C. -- Pat LaMarche, the Green Party's 2004 vice presidential candidate, will speak at a rally in Washington, D.C. on November 19 about the Ohio recount effort launched by the Cobb/LaMarche and Badnarik campaigns.

Ms. LaMarche will join Libertarian presidential candidate, Michael Badnarik, at a rally in front of the White House at LaFayette Park on Friday November 19 at noon. The rally has been organized by ReDefeatBush and other groups to protest the "botched" 2004 election and prepare for the "post-democracy era" under the second Bush Administration. The contact for ReDefeatBush is Joy Howell 202-828-7838, .

Citing widespread reports of voting irregularities, the Cobb/LaMarche and Badnarik campaigns recently launched a joint effort to hold a recount of presidential votes cast in Ohio during the November 2 election.

Ms. LaMarche will arrive in Washington, D.C. at 9 a.m. Friday morning and return to Maine at 6 p.m. the same evening. She can be reached by her cell phone at 646-202-0846 today or during the trip.

The Green-Libertarian recount effort has raised the necessary money to file for a recount, and is now raising money for monitoring the recount and related expenses.

Everyone should march on Washington at least once in their life. The Vast Right Wing meeting we had in Washington, after the rally to call for Clinton's impeachment is seared in my memory.

While name-calling is great sport, the issue of accurate, honest and complete vote counting integrity is serious business.

Regardless of which candidate a voter picked, it is mandatory that the vote be recorded.

Otherwise, tyranny develops............

I think that people, including many walking with the Greens, mistake libertarianism with anarchism.

i cannot speak for anybody but myself. while the goal of limited gov't, which the libertarians embrace, is something i am in agreement upon, it is the apparent lack of a policy based on moral values, be they from god or from humanists, that stains them in my eyes. without an agreement on values there is no absulute wrong or right. without this, how can one define a coherent, consistent policy and then implement them properly?

I agree with you, and that is what separates a libertarian from an Anarchist. The former realizes that there must be some rules to life, the other believe in a free for all.

I'll be marching in support of Bush on January 20th, inauguration day. I marched there four years ago too.

I have always thought that Libertarians were much closer to Dems than to Republicans. Actually, I like the term used on FR: "Loosertarians." That describes them perfectly, not only as a group, but every single individual libertarian I have ever met.

Libertarian positions are in general less government, less regulation and less taxation. Sound familiar?

Also, we must all work diligently in the coming months to convince “progressives” that the Democratic Party has let them down. They must abandon the party. Their only recourse is to join and work for the Green Party moving forward. I may even register as a Green Party member to swell their voter registration rolls. Divide and conquer.

Begin with putting all known “progressives” in your sphere of influence on the Green Party mail list from their website. Great fun. Start inundating them with information now.
