Does anyone else think it is inevitable that U.S. military Forces will someday soon be pitted against French military forces?
Could the problems being experienced by the citizens of Ivory Coast, a former French colony in West Africa, precipitate such a military confrontation?
What are your thoughts on "who" is in the "right" in the Ivory Coast conflict? Is it the nonfrench citizens of Ivory Coast? Is it the muslim "insurgent" citizens of Ivory Coast ("the rebel forces")? Is it the French from continental Europe?
With what knowledge did you form your opinion? Please share this knowledge with us.
I, for one, am in favor of helping the legitimate government of Ivory Coast and its citizens. The citizens have been holding up signs in public places where they hope news crews will film them, signs on which they are asking for the USA to please help them. Why aren't WE, the American people, helping the citizens of Ivory Coast?
Are you not also surprised that the U.S. did not use its veto power to block the recent U.N. Security Council resolution regarding Ivory Coast?
Please share your thoughts on these questions. Thanks.
We dont have the capacity to house a whole army of stinky, rude French POWs.
Whenever it happens it won't last long. The entire french army against 3 Navy Seals just to make it somewhat even.
Doesn't matter where, when, or why. End result is the same.
Here, frenchy, frenchy, frenchy. BOOOOOOM!
Just as soon as the frogs can requisition enough white flags.
Not going to happen.
The French have far to much to lose fighting us on the battlefield...any battlefield.
They will merely continue to arm and aid our enemies to the best of their ability.
There is one caveat, of course, the French want to created a European Union centered around France itself with the real capability of opposing the US even militarily and an only nominally democratic form of government (technocracy to be exact).
If they were to get their wish, then at some point in the future, military conflict is possible, though still very unlikely.
French troops fought Americans in North Africa in WWII. That didn't work out well for the French. I don't think they want another taste of that.
I don't know, but I would hate to have to send over there a boy scout troop to kick their ass.
Already happened! We killed 3 CONFIRMED French Fries in Fallujah already!
"French forces" ? The only "French forces" with guts is the Foreign Legion - and you wanna know why? It's because there are no snail-sucking surrender-monkeys (Frenchies) in the Legion.
...not soon enough.
The French will never engage the US militarily. Now once the EU bands together with a common military things might change. Result will be the same since the weasels will manevuer themselves into military command positions.
As to the Ivory Coast, I have no opinion other than the opinion that the French are acting in their own interests and not in the interests the people whose country it is. They seem to think that it is still a French colony.
My best guess is Wisconsin. The French will launch a sneak attack against the cheese industry.
Next summer. Paris.
We could face them in Quebec, after the U.S. liberals fleeing the U.S. all move up there.
Won word answer with a follow up...
If there is ever a battle for Israel and Jerusalem... you can trust what side the French will be on.
We may be one of the only nations to come to Israel's aid.
So, in a word... a war in --- Israel.
One not won..geez
I believe that a confrontation is inevitable when the troops of France and the USA use the same latrine. The resultant conflict will not be pretty.
