Tom Negovan reports Homeland Security agents bust an illegal flu vaccine operation.
Nov 23, 2004 1:54 pm US/Eastern SOMERS POINT, N.J. (KYW) Federal investigators probing the smuggling of hundreds of doses of flu vaccine into the country searched a home in this shore community Monday night, authorities said.....
Sources told Negovan that a member of the Safad Corporation obtained the vaccine abroad and attempted to ship it to the United States from Saudi Arabia. The package apparently left Jedda, Saudi Arabia on November 6th, traveled to Bahrain, and then to London, where it wandered the globe, crossing the ocean five times and finally ending at JFK Airport on November 17th.
The vaccine was intercepted when it arrived in the United States via a commercial shipping company, he said....
Interesting.
Today's articles are varied and interesting.

How did it get from JFK to the guy's house?
Also, I wonder what might show up as an additive when the authorities test the stuff.
I still don't get this flu shot hysteria. So many people I know (including me) have never had the shot and have never had more than a week or so of flu like symptoms every few years or so. Yet, this year people seem to be hysterical about getting the shot. It is the furthest thing from my mind. Am I nuts? I told my oncologist my opinion on the subject and he didn't take a position on my opinion so I gathered that it was not an important issue for me even though theoretically I fall into the at risk category.
