Wal-Mart in Wisconsin evacuated after suspicious object found (WI - 11/29/04)

Associated Press November 29, 2004 WALM1130 MANITOWOC, Wis. -- A Wal-Mart store was evacuated for several hours after a suspicious object was found in its toy department by an employee, police said.

Lt. Karl Puestow said a small metal container that appeared to contain some explosive material and a wick was found Sunday night. But he said it did not appear any effort had been made to ignite the device.

N Korea in Secret Hunt for Missing Son of Top General

SEOUL: North Korea launched a secret manhunt for the missing son of General Oh Guk-Ryol, a top military official who orchestrates the communist state’s secret overseas operations, Yonhap news agency said on Sunday. Pyongyang has yet to confirm whether Oh Se-Wook, 43, the eldest son of Oh Guk-Ryol, fled the communist regime or was murdered, Yonhap said quoting an unnamed source.

Indonesian Jetfighter Makes Emergency Landing (11/29/04)

JAKARTA, Nov. 29 (Xinhua) -- A Britain-made Hawk-200 jetfighter belonging to the Indonesian Air Force made an emergency landing on the Sultan Syarif Kasim Airport in the Sumatra province of Riau Monday, but there is no report of casualty.

North Sea Platform Evacuated after Gas Leak (11/29/04)

About 180 workers were evacuated from a North Sea oil platform today after a gas leak was discovered. Production was shut down while repair crews tried to stem the leak.

Helicopters lifted workers from the floating Snorre A platform, located north-west of the Norwegian port city of Bergen, and took them to other platforms.

10 injured as KLM plane veers off runway (Amsterdam - 11/29/04)

29 November 2004 AMSTERDAM — A KLM plane with 140 people on board veered off the runway upon landing at Barcelona Airport Sunday, but no one was seriously hurt in the incident, airport officials said.

The landing gear of the KLM Boeing 737-400 arriving from Amsterdam was seriously damaged in the accident. It remains unclear what caused the problem.
