"America ought to do what's in America's interests, and those interests are not served by being dependent on oil in the Middle East and by giving an open hand to the Israelis," ... "If we're less open-handed to Israel over time we can cut down Bin Laden's ability to grow. Right now he has unlimited potential for growing."
I'm curious. Exactly with which of Scheuer's points above do you disagree? Scheuer might have gone over the top in some statements, but I believe that everything I've read concerning his read on UBL has been spot on. Don't throw the baby out with the bathwater.

You guys can write me a recommendation for Graduate School to repay if you wish. ;-)
I'm going to be working on the TM index more in the near future, I just threw together a skeleton for it last night while bored. It should help get the threads better indexed in google, hopefully. I'm looking into a way to archive images/etc. as well.
Kudos to your son!
One would think so!

Powerline has a translation of the Ash-Sharq al-Awsat story from Thursday that claims Hadid is the brother of the former Jazeera Baghdad bureau chief.
Additionally, this Knight Ridder piece doesn't mention that Hadid is a former Saddam bodyguard.
