The Threat Matrix

The title refers to a daily report given to the president of the United States detailing the most serious terrorist threats against the country. To tackle those threats, the government has formed a top-notch task force to infiltrate the terror cells and cut off the danger.

"Every morning, the president receives a list of the top ten terrorist threats - this list is known as the threat matrix."

We here at FR are trying to be in conjunction with the daily reports around the world that involve threats. We try to provide a storehouse of information that takes hours of research.

"We should have secured the Mexican border."

That could be the pitiful lament we hear from negligent U.S. officials if Al Qaeda pulls off an attack on the United States using weapons of mass destruction smuggled across our southern frontier.

Were that horrendous event to happen, leaders in the administration and Congress would be justly hit with the same question that was perhaps unjustly cast at them and their predecessors after the unprecedented Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks: Why didn't they connect the dots?

I just found out online that
the French word "refectoire" means
the English word "refectory" which means "dining hall in a religious house, a college, or other institution."

So, the martyr specifically worked in the dining hall.

Wouldn't taking fingerprints at passport application time deter some of this passport identity theft? If the prints don't match, the entry is denied.....or is that too complicated? I realize it's not foolproof, but would certainly nail some of the attempted fraudulent entries.

The large population, vast resources, growing technological aid from Russia and China, and increasingly leftist tendencies of the region combine to give Latin America the capability to fulfil Chavez' dream."

This is what just happened to my father-in-law, a post surgery complication. He spent two weeks on a ventilator, will leave the hospital tomorrow. He's doing great right now and I'm sure your Aunt Clara will recover soon. Our modern doctors and their medical teams are wonderful. I know our prayers help guide their hands, hearts and minds.

"Blade found in passenger's shoe"

ARTICLE SNIPPET: "A Virginia man traveling to Kaua'i with his wife and four children was arrested yesterday at Honolulu International Airport after security officials said they found a three- to four-inch box cutter blade concealed in his shoe.

Randall Rustick, 33, was arrested after a screener X-raying his possessions saw a metal object in the shoe and became suspicious, said Sidney Hayakawa, federal security chief for the airport."

"Man with blade held"

Well I'll update you now Bill before this thread changes to a new thread.

I checked around for UBL in the cold-weather hat and couldn't find it.
Most of the links where I thought it would be had "bandwidth exceeded" on them and the other UBL photo gallery links I had for the most part went , 404 "page not found."

My gut tells me he might be one of those people who wants to tweak the feds by proving that the screening is inadequate. I'll bet he was planning on leaving the blade where some cleanup crew would find it and report it.
