Poll Question:

In the DISTANT FUTURE if an anti-USA alliance of China, EU, and Russia emerges, and relations explode into a WW3- do you think USA could defeat this alliance? (This is assuming that in the 'distant future' the EU has a combined military--which is VERY likely to happen).

But doesn't the Hulk just keep getting stonger as he gets angrier? Wouldn't being beaten up by Superman give him the anger necessary to match Superman in strength?

Ultimately, I think Superman would just throw the Hulk into space though.

As for the US v. EU, China and Russian, that is a very silly question (unlike the super-hero question). If all sides were restricted to the use of conventional weapons, we would almost certainly be able to at the least control the air and the seas, and for capitulation that way. We couldn't invade and control all of that territory without significant support from the local populations, however.

But if it was a real war, without limits, we would all obviously be dead. So it's a stupid question.

"Aw now, truly you must jest!"

My jaw dropped when I read that too. Compared to Russia and Red China, France is but a nuisance.

How about Major Matt Mason (action figure astronaut). I doubt if many remember that fine 1960s childhood toy.

I had two of the action figures, the Lunar Base, and the Space Crawler. That and my GI Joe Mercury astronaut and capsule provided hours of fun and imagination for a space-crazy 60s kid.

Have you seen the prices that stuff fetches on eBay today? Incredible. My folks should have kept all my old toys instead of giving them to Goodwill.

BTW, what does DU mean???

Donkey Urine. Actually, the Democratic Underground.

An extreme left website, featuring seething hatred, bitter, foamy rants, and thoughts expressed primarily with four letter words. Wear a biohazard suit if you feel the need to see it for yourself.

Superman always had the limitation that he restrained himself. He was always trying not to hurt someone. For that reason, whenever he got in a fight with someone tough, they hit him with everything they had, and he got caught flat-footed. The Hulk always used his strength very intelligently, even though he appeared to have the IQ of a three or four year old. I think his intelligence was supposed to be more like a lion or elephant. He wasn't articulate, but he knew instinctively how to use his strength.

Superman's strength varied dramatically from comic to comic. In some comics, he could move a planet. In others, he struggled to pick up objects that weighed several tons. He shouldn't have ever lost a fight because of his super speed. I mean, if you can move faster than the speed of light, how does anyone beat you? One thing I noticed was that Superman get whacked by people, and I'm sitting there thinking, "Dude, you can move faster than the speed of light! Why don't you just grab him before he fires his kryptonite gun, or melt it with your Xray vision before you get close enough to have it affect you?"

Of course, the big problem was really that the Hulk was a Marvel character, while Superman was DC. Corporately, neither company would allow their character to lose a fight to a character from a competing company.

As a side note to this, when Disney made Who Framed Roger Rabbit, they had to sign contractual agreements with Warner Brothers so that Daffy and Bugs would have the exact same amount of screen time as Donald and Mickey. Also, neither character could appear to have beaten the other.

The war wouldn't be that obvious except for those in the direct line of hostility.

Count on 20% of those who voted for Kerry or Clinton to be directly and indirectly involved in a fifth column.

Operational maneuver would probably be similar to how the US went into Iraq, with a fifth column leading the way. Confusion would amass from political propaganda,...various interests in an n-party, no sum game, with groups changing members between party interests during the plays.

The national players would be focal points, but operational players would probably be convoluted groupings of various powers dynamically linked.

I could be rich if my toys had been kept in good shape. Unfortunately, I discovered firecrackers at about age 8, and few survived the trauma.
