Democratic Party leaders said Wednesday they want to know why Sen. John Kerry ended his presidential campaign with more than $15 million in the bank, money that could have helped Democratic candidates across the country.
Some said he will be pressured to give the money to Democratic campaign committees rather than save it for a potential White House bid in 2008.
"Democrats are questioning why he sat on so much money that could have helped him defeat George Bush or helped down-ballot races, many of which could have gone our way with a few more million dollars," said Donna Brazile, campaign manager for Al Gore's 2000 presidential race.
Brazile is a member of the 400-plus member Democratic National Committee, which meets early next year to pick a new party chairman. One high-ranking member of the DNC, speaking on condition of anonymity, said word of Kerry's nest egg has stirred anger on the committee and could hurt his chances of putting an ally in the chairmanship.
Congressional Democrats and labor leaders also privately questioned Kerry's motives. One said he would personally ask the Massachusetts senator to donate some of the money to the Democratic House and Senate campaign committees.
Three former Kerry campaign aides, also demanding anonymity out of concerns about alienating their former boss, said they were surprised and disappointed to learn that he left so much money in the bank.

First off he has to pay off the loan on his Beacon Hill townhouse.
Then he has to reimburse all the attorneys sent all over the country to contest the vote.
Then he has to pay back Terayyyzah for use of the jet as a campaign expense.
Then the DNC has to take their cut.
Finally he will stiff the low level campaign workers.
So much for the superior blue state intellect.
Well that isn't alot of money to him, maybe he just forgot about it.
He decided to spend the money......before he decided to keep the money.

He paid it off with campaign donations that came in after he became the 'presumptive' candidate.
That was 100% legal - BUT at the time it ticked off a lot of Dems (& the Michael Moore type Loons) as they grumbled that wasn't why they donated to his campaign, so he could pay off old debts.
And IMO, he's probably keeping this stash of $15 Mil as he foresees Tereeeeesa kicking his sorry butt out of all her houses.
Is your post from an article on Drudge yesterday. I thought I had seen one that said he had 45. Yours says at one time he did.
Anyway, it just reinforces the character of the man that he would keep the money.
But, then again I just saw a new thread where he says, he may/may not run in 2008. He still can't make a decision.

He paid that loan back right before the convention in July out of his campaign funds.

Nope. They still don't get that it wasn't about the ads, 'cept maybe the Swifty ads. Kerry knew this and pulled up short of the finish line because he knew he couldn't win. (Another deep look into his character.) The internals were bad and leaning towards moral issues rather than the war or economy. He didn't have a leg to stand on. Remember the appearances Sunday after Sunday at black churches? Hillary will probably end up with the excess since it's earmarked for a presidential campaign.
Speaking of DUmmies- This is off subject but I just heard on Sean Hannity that Hillary either gave a speech or interview where she said that she considers herself an evangelical christian and a CONSERVATIVE southern girl.

I would absolutely love to see Kerry run in '08. Seeing him and Piano Legs and the Breck Girl go at each other would be delectably delicious. Throw in Dean and I would be downright giddy!
Because he has a selfish, greedy streak like hilleree? They don't even care about their people in their own party. It's me, me, me, me, me. Thank GOD it's them and not me. They are truly pitiful
