Unclear on the Concept

Laurie David is the social-activist wife of "Curb Your Enthusiasm" TV star Larry David, well known for speaking out on, and rallying other activists on, environmental issues, such as the need for energy conservation. According to a report in the September Atlantic Monthly, David shuns commercial airliners to get to her speeches (even though the increase in fuel usage to carry a person of her size would be negligible), preferring to make special trips each time by private jet, which a New Republic columnist calculated uses as much fuel in one cross-country round-trip as a Hummer uses in a year. Go to middle of article under heading, "Unclear on the Concept" Oh, these limo libs, they are a hoot. What are we gonna do for fun without them. I never want to hear another word about my ford explorer full of rug rats, groceries, and clothes for goodwill. My sport ute is my tool--I need and use the passenger and cargo space.

This kills me because I love Larry David's Curb Your Enthusiasm and haven't decided if I can, in good conscience, watch it any more. This b-aitch was VERY active during this last election cycle.

Self-delusion, ignorance and arrogance is a deadly mix.

Enjoy the show too but this woman is stone-cold whacko! An ordinary woman who through shear dumb luck won the lotto with ther husband making a fortune through a television show, and thus feels she has the right to tell us how to live.

These people are not unclear about anything. They simply believe that the rules should apply to everyone else - That they are too good or that their cause is too just to actually have to follow the same rules they want to impose on us little people. This is another example of all those "intellictual elites" who can't understand why all us poor, religous idiots voted against them. You see, they want capitalism for themselves and socialism for the rest of us.

A great example of this is on display in my neighborhood. I live in occupied California and all the good liberals in my neighborhood are "pro environment", Sierra Club wackos. Almost every one of them drives an SUV or some other giant car. If you ask them (and I have asked some), each one of them will have some justification why THEY can drive the SUV, but nobody else can. You see, they see themselves as so "special" and "smarter" than everyone else. This "specialness" makes them more worthy. They give to wacko organizations out of guilt.

See how it works?
