MARINE IN SHOOTING PROBE (yes...by the UN...gaggg)

The United Nations has called for an investigation into a series of alleged abuses in the Iraqi city of Fallujah.

Human rights official Louise Arbour said those responsible for any violations should be brought to justice.

Controversy over the Fallujah offensive was fuelled by video footage showing a US Marine shooting dead a wounded and unarmed Iraqi.

The pictures showed some marines entering the mosque on Saturday.

The marine, who has since been taken off battlefield duty, is seen standing above a figure slumped against a wall aiming his rifle at the man's body.

"He's f****** faking he's dead," the soldier is heard to shout. "He's breathing... he's f****** faking he's dead."

A shot rings out, and the words: "He is now" can be heard on the video.

US broadcaster NBC said the dead man, one of about five pictured inside the mosque, was an unarmed insurgent who had been discovered the previous day and been left to await medical attention.

The reports said the unnamed marine involved had been wounded in the face the day before the killing but had returned to duty almost immediately.

Another soldier had died moving the booby-trapped body of an insurgent.

The US military has begun an investigation into possible war crimes over the incident.

The First Marine Division said it wanted to determine whether the marine acted in self-defence, violated military law or failed to comply with the international Law of Armed Conflict.

...the camera was so close to the two terrorists on the ground that if one had exploded the reporter would be dead. One has to be a morron to get that close to a terrorist in Iraq knowing how they strap explosives on their butts to kill westerners.

Of course you NEVER hear about investigations of Iraqi violations, EVER. They use mosques and booby trap corpses etc, and that's fine. The UNs political hypocrisy and double standards are beyond ridiculous.
We need to shoot every corpse as SOP to make sure it's indeed a corpse, and no more prisoners.

We should stay in the UN and nuke their every move with vetos.

The thing is either the guy was really dead (so you can't kill a dead guy) or the guy is faking and therefor he not surrendering even surrounded and therefor is still a potential combatant because you don't know what weapons he my have on him and what he might do...

Thats the reason you have people put that hand on their head or lay down or strip before you approach them even if you see no weapons... if the don't comply they could be consider a potential combatant

"Faking that you are dead means that he is not surrendering and still intends to try and cause harm; this makes him a combatant using deception to attempt death or injury against his enemy. He was shot to prevent that. "

Bottom line: HE NEEDED KILLIN

Louise Arbour: "Anti-Family Canadian"

Canadian Activist Judge

'Equality' Bench Legislator

UN High Commissioner for Human Rights

Excerpt from: Equality groups welcome confirmation of Louise Arbour as UN High Commissioner for Human Rights:

"In her time as a judge of the Supreme Court of Canada, Justice Arbour has consistently affirmed the right of lesbians, gays and bisexuals to equal treatment, in cases dealing with the discriminatory application of customs laws to lesbian and gay materials, a School Board's refusal to approve for classroom use three books depicting same-sex families and the need for teachers trained at an Evangelical University to maintain a classroom free from discrimination..."

Then it needs to be given the SBVT treatment. A NATIONAL campaign that everyone understands.

She's Canadian.
That explains it.
Canada seems to be catching up rapidly with France on having more weasels and finks per capita than any other country on the planet.

Outstanding! It would a most welcome development to see the world community finally start holding Saddam's and al-Zaqwari's thugs responsible for their atrocities.

That is their intention, no? It isn't?

I should have guessed.

...this qualifies her to make decisions on battlefield responses by soldiers fighting terrorist who cut peoples' heads off.

Here comes your World Court in the Hague to charge war crimes against our military. Bill Clinton supported this.

A UN "investigation" will consist of....what? Viewing the video tape, and? They aren't going to be allowed to talk to the Marines that were there, or anybody in the chain of command.

So what are they to conclude? Looks bad? Yep. Unjustified? Maybe, but you weren't in continuous close-combat for a week, frightened of booby-traps & other concealed weapons, on a hyper-aggressive caffeine buzz, and about a hundred other things...

I think Kofi should personally go conduct a thorough investigation in Fallujah. His investigation should include personally turning over every apparently dead body to make sure it's really dead and not needing medical attention.

Who the h is the UN to do anything. They are responsible for our being there in the first place with their corruption and involvement with the oil for food program. Sanctions would have worked if they were not accepting bribes and thereby allowing Saddam to continue his cruelty to his own people.
We would never have been put into this position if they were a moral organization. We need to get out of this organization and get them out of our country.

Screw it.

Bring all the troops home from everywhere.

Let the world go crazy and then see how much the lefties and liberals want the protection of those whom they disparage, discourage and disrespect.

I am getting really pissed off at guys like Sites whose Pulitzer is more important than the USA, or the Marines, or the president, or a combat Marine, or anything else that matters.

Sites is an incredibly selfish human being and I believe that the shit he stirs will eventually cover him for life.
