Marine accused of wrongful shooting needs our help...
16 nov 04 | Atlanta

Posted on 11/16/2004 4:34:34 AM PST by Atlanta

I'm going to start with a communication of support of this young Marine, to the Commandant of the Marine Corps himself. Then, President Bush and my Senator/Congressman.They are going to hear from me and I have all friggin day to do it. I am so livid about this that words cannot describe. As a former Marine myself, this young "Leather" was doing what he was trained to do, adapting to unreasonable circumstances (enemy tricks) and he did exactly what I would have done and what has always been done with a fanatical enemy. If authorities hang this Marine out to dry, I will never stop raising hell and will become a point man for pulling these guys out of theater entirely...MSM is SICK. Other suggestions?

FGS, what a pile of crap.

For every story twisting what is happening, we have ten more that show the wonderful job our troops are doing.

The embedded reporters are a good idea.

I am posting the number for NBC Washington again:

202-885-4200

Call and complain. Shock and awe with complaints.

An excellent suggestion, which I will now do. Passing it along for a bump, too. ;-D

MSNBC Report Update

MSNBC has now shown yet another version of the report. In this one, Mickleshevsky (sp) does the report. He uses an edited portion of Sites Imus statement where he says, "Throughout this offensive I have seen the military act as a discipline and professional force... it was a confusing situation... Only the soldier knows his intent.."

NBC's New York news studio is (212) 664-444. Ask for "complaint line." Also, I suggest calling or e-mailing local NBC affiliate.
I was in Charlie 1/5 in Vietnam (67-68). I am mad enough to get in trouble over NBC's treachery.

I was listening to Hannity and Chombs last night and was shocked to hear the figures of how many of our soldiers have died due to booby trapped bodies. I think it was something like 125, some just the day before this incident.

Hannity made me a little angry, he felt very sorry for the boy, but said if he is found guilty he should be punished. I just don't agree with that given the circumstances.

I can see were keeping discipline enters into the treatment of prisoners, but this situation was a circle moose tap dance.

No one informed the grunts "retaking" the mosque that there were injured terrorists inside waiting for transport to medivac. After being injured the previous day and being up for 24 hours the kid made a split second decision, the MSM can get off his back or find us on theirs.

We need to withdraw from the Geneva Convention, our enemies sure don't uphold it, and it puts our boys at disadvantage.

That all sounds real nice. You got to fight fire with fire with these animals. Its obvious the Leatherneck thought he was a threat and eliminated the threat. Bottom Line. By the way IE, just how worse can these idiots hate us anyway? People like you just don't get it, These animals only respect absolute brute force. Thats the only way you can deal with these people and the only way the country of Iraq will ever have a chance. If this gets wide play in Arab media good, then they will think twice about trying to kill Marines, munlike your position which is soft, careful and puts Marines in bodybags. You want us to be more sensitive to? Watch a beheading IronEagle.

How many Al Queda training and recruiting tapes will show this footage to young recruits? How many terrorist will be made? How do we win the public relations battle with Iraqi's on the ground when they see this type of video?

I can assure you that the majority of Iraqis, looking forward to elections and a free country, will be overjoyed at this video. And those who are going to see it in a recruitment tape will think twice.

Once again, the words on the tape vindicate the young Marine as it is stated on the video that the terrorist/insurgent was "faking death." He did NOT shoot him out of malice as nothing like that was recorded on the video. He PERCEIVED the wounded/dead terrorist to be a threat. That was a reasonable assumption considering that the terrorists had feigned death before only to raise up and shoot at Marines. Also the terrorists had boobytrapped bodies before, costing American lives.

The young Marine made a reasonable assumption with the knowlege he had. He perceived the guy as a threat - whether he was or not is irrelevant - as the young made made a reasonable assumption, came to a reasonable conclusion, and made the right decision in eradicating a PERCEIVED threat. It was a judgement call, and a reasonable call, given the circumstances.

Case closed.

"Beyond ruining this courageous young man's life when he is still in danger, they are producing propaganda for our enemies..."

Yup.
And always remember the MSM [read: Maggot Stream Mediots] are after the administration.

Burning this Marine -- or 1,000,000 just like him -- "by any means necessary" to accomplish their Liberal-Socialist goal is all in a days work for slime the likes of those who've control of our information sources.

"Sick and insane."

I'm sure it was all that & more.
Personally, if *I* were over there?
This *sites* scum should be afraid, very afraid.

Not that I'd do anything to him, mind you.
But I might Finn a way to get him into the hands of the enemy; where, he just might lose his head.

"And you should have heard the glee in the NBC radio report..."

I'll bet.

Lookit, when is Bush & Co going to get the picture, here?
I mean we all know full-well what Clintigula would've *&* did do under identicle circumstances.

Naturally there's nothing that can be done against seditious SOBs running America's MSM, freedom of the press and all that.
But the FCC could be asked [read: ] to give their licensed & books a good looking-over, for *compliance*?

...a real close look.

There should be no reason that his commanders stand up for him, including Bush. It so easy playing armchair marine. God bless these guys. The MSM has got to be taken out!

"I think the world has gone mad - NOW we are taking the word of a TERRORIST to hang one of our brave young Marines. Unbelievable."

...and now we are learning what CNN and NBC DIDN'T report:
*The Mosque had been taken on Friday and lost on Saturday because terrorists who were dressed as civilians were left to regroup and fight again
*the Marine lost a buddy the day before when he moved a booby trapped body
*the marine who is being slandered by the media was shot in the face the day before by a terrorist who was pretending to be injured...

Isn't it time we remove, if not prosecute, media seditionists who's only goal is to provide aid and comfort to the enemy?

I asked he what we could do to help get the embedded reporters out of Iraq. He said actually they have proved to be beneficial most of the time.

Good. That's just what I've been saying. (And I'm stunned that most Freepers don't appreciate it more. This Sites report is the exception to the embedded reporting, not the rule) Nice to know the Marines agree with me.
