I'm going to start with a communication of support of this young Marine, to the Commandant of the Marine Corps himself. Then, President Bush and my Senator/Congressman.They are going to hear from me and I have all friggin day to do it. I am so livid about this that words cannot describe. As a former Marine myself, this young "Leather" was doing what he was trained to do, adapting to unreasonable circumstances (enemy tricks) and he did exactly what I would have done and what has always been done with a fanatical enemy. If authorities hang this Marine out to dry, I will never stop raising hell and will become a point man for pulling these guys out of theater entirely...MSM is SICK. Other suggestions?
This Marine has my full support. The wolf pack howling after his should be ashamed. They want America brought to her knees.
I heard that the marine shooting was shot in the face the day before, and their buddy was killed by a terrorist
playing dead as he checked the bodies the day before.
Live grenade at six?
Sites wants a job at the NYTimes.
Other FReeper research is at this post. Add this info to the mix:
By researching other threads on the incident, I have found out that another Marine squad had cleared out the mosque first. The NBC reporter was with that first unit. Later, insurgents reoccupied the mosque. The mosque then had to be cleared out again by Marines with no knowledge of what had happened there 24 hours before. The second squad of Marines had never set foot in that mosque before. Only the NBC reporter had been in that mosque before and only the NBC reporter knew the whole story.
~snip~
Why the hell didn't the NBC reporter say something?
I am going to write to Senator Lindsey Graham that we support this marine and that the MSM are the traitors. Senator Graham is on the Armed Services Committee: http://armed-services.senate.gov/ AND was a former JAG officer. I encourage everyone to email him and committee members.

losing not loosing
I am with you 100%. What can we do?
I dont think that anyone here is qualified to pass judgment on this Marine based on a few seconds of film. You are seeing what the media wants you to see God only knows what footage was left on the editing room floor. Fact of the matter remains, you and I are not there and dont know the situation. There was a saying popular when I was in the Corps facing cowardly enemy combatants such as these THINGS Id rather be tried by 12 then carried by 6.
Furthermore, its war and as difficult as this may seem to some, people do actually die! This is very damaging regardless of the outcome. What you will see now is stick word passed to the Marines/Soldiers in Iraq to watch your step around the journalists. So in stead of acting instinctively as they have been trained to do, our service men/women will hesitate and assess/reassess every decision in fear of media scrutiny. Yea, thats just what we need...
Semper!
This is Clinton/Albright aggressive multiculturalism...moral relativism run amok.
If he gets into real trouble over this - shooting a fanatical enemy in a war-zone, we should raise money for him!
.
"I am with you 100%. What can we do?"
Ditto here.
The MSM will probably go after this Marine's family, as well. Hopefully, reporters will be run out of town on a rail.
Thanks for the ping .. sounds like many reporters are jumping on Sites for his reporting of this
I wonder if Sites was scared for his own safety and he assumed that without that info the Marines would be more aggressive...
Greg Palcott (sp) of Fox now weighs in:
Paraphrasing:
I have seen our troops operating under the most difficult conditions imaginable. The life and death of war. I have seen our soldiers treat civilians and detainees with care. I have seen the treat the places of worship with as much care as possible.
My opinion, and it is an informed opinion, is that this was an isolated incident.
How does one get nominated for a Medal of Honor?
