Give me a reason

In the wake of the Democrats’ unexpectedly widespread, far-reaching loss in the recent election, many strategists and operatives in their party have come to the conclusion that what the Democrats need to do in order to regain power is to stress their recognition and appreciation of the role that “moral values” play in American society today.

A story has surfaced that suggests Democrats dine more frequently at Applebees restaurant, so they can experience the casual, down-to-earth atmosphere of “real” America, where values-driven Americans spend their time. At a breakfast hosted by the Christian Science Monitor, Democratic warlord James Carville went so far as to say,

Carville is such a clown. Applebee's is so 'in.' And Dems have absolutely no clue.

Carville is such a clown.

Yes, but I loved him as Golum in LOTR.

I've never been to an Applebee's. Is crow on the menu?

Well, where we live, Applebee's is where the horny Yuppies go to, ahem! "hook up." I read an earlier version of this story, and I kind of wonder if the writer has every been to a tractor pull. I have, and somehow I suspect he'd view it with great suspicion, but he'd be more likely to find the values voters there than at our Applebee's.

The people they need to understand eat dinner at home with their families and won't let them in.

Followed the link, good article.
If the Left doesn't focus on the real reasons they lost—national security, taxes, judicial concerns, family-oriented programs, and personal opportunity and accountability—and instead, makes up fictitious reasons to assuage their egos, then they'll continue to lose future elections without ever knowing why. When a political party finds that it needs to concoct reasons for its existence, that it needs to fabricate issues and invent common ground with which it can appeal to the electorate, it doesn’t speak well to that party’s reason for being.
Indeed.

LOL...hope they fall for this! Where we live, Applebee's food is marginal at best, and the service is just awful. Another waste of time, space and effort by the dems.

Feelin' good in the neighborhood.... As much as I like and I am one of the regular people, I avoid chain restaurants like the plague. Mom and pop shops have much better food.

"The very reason for a political party’s existence is to espouse a set a beliefs, a point of view, a governing philosophy that can be presented to the country as a reason for that party to be given the opportunity to lead the nation....The Democrats offered no clear, well-articulated alternative."

Oh, the Democrats ABSOLUTELY "espouse a set of beliefs, a point of view, a governing philosophy". The only problem is that if they actually come out and admit what that governing philosophy really is (SOCIALISM), then they will lose even more heavily.

I knew there was a reason I didn't like Applebee's, besides "not enough food for the cost." Ruby Tuesday's is much better. But I really prefer IHOP when I'm exceptionally hungry.

All the loudmouth, pushing, ungrateful, undeserving Liberal special interest groups which have for DECADES demanded and received, with the collusion of the Democratic Party and the MSM, more attention and political indulgence than their actual numbers merit, have finally been exposed and it is time for the Democratic leadership and the MSM to admit as much. The Democrats and the special interest groups have been shamelessly exploiting one another for long enough. The MSM has been prostituting itself to the Socialist agenda for long enough. If a majority of the politically unsophisticated American voters can figure this out and the Democratic leadership and the MSM cannot, who needs them!

Goose hunting. They need to go goose hunting. Crawling around on their bellies, stalking their prey, then shooting it with their 12-gauge shotguns.

They need a church, so I'm proposing a new church called the Church of the New Democrat. Church services are held only in October in years that are divisible by 4.

Ya'll forgot cow tippin..can't leave that out. An American just ain't an American without knowing what that means. You ain't a man until you "lay down the cow" in these parts. It's a well know tradition that the dems are too stupid to fake.
