Swiftvet O'Neill: If Kerry Comes Back, So Will We
NewsMax.com ^ | 11/14/04 | Carl Limbacher

If John Kerry tries to reclaim his party's presidential nomination in 2008, as he suggested he'll do to a group of his campaign aides last week, he'll have to do battle with the Swift Vets and POWs for Truth all over again.

That was the pledge on Sunday from John O'Neill, leader of the group of Vietnam veterans that many credit with stopping the Kerry campaign's political momentum dead in its tracks. "If he comes back and runs for president again, we'll come down out of the mountain - all of us," O'Neill told WABC Radio's Monica Crowley.

O'Neill said he hoped Kerry wouldn't try to make a comeback.

"If he doesn't, of course, we'd all like to go home. We're not political folks," he insisted.

"Hopefully, we'll be able get together again in 35 more years and not have to worry in the meantime about John Kerry," O'Neill told Crowley.

What will they do at their reunion, I wonder? Play Pin-the-Truth-on-the-Donkey?

I think somehow ALL Kerry's military records should be released, which would most likely show a NOT honorable discharge, THAT would finish Kerry off for any future candidacy.

My thought is that the democratic process worked; their efforts to get out publicity on Kerry's treason sank into the American mind. At a time of war, did a sellout traitor make sense? We decided not.

Kerry may run again (in fact, given his high opinion of himself he probably will), but I'll bet everything I own and ever will that he won't get the nomination. Unless Hillary runs, I'm figuring the dems will want a fresh face to represent their party, not a retread like Kerry. Hell, they didn't even like him in the first place, fat chance he'll get another go at it. Nov. 2nd spelled the end of his presidential hopes.

My hat is off to O'neil and the Swifties for a job well done.

I hope they can rest now.

Kerry may think he has political viability, but he can ask Owl Gore about his chances.

They owe it to America to not allow a man who betrayed his country to be president of that country. That is their noble cause and the extension and continuation of their service to the nation that started in Vietnam some 35 years ago.
God bless them.

It's a new old dawn. The democrats won't run a loser for a second try. If they would even entertain the thought, would not have AL (the most popular winner to ever lose a presidential race) GORE be waiting to be sworn in in January?

Kerry's viability and usefulness is spent. Maybe the dems can learn a lesson (HA!). People that spend their entire lives grooming themselves to be president never make it to their goal.

"People that spend their entire lives grooming themselves to be president never make it to their goal."

What's so weird to me is that Kerry didn't really GROOM himself for the position he coveted so much. His career in the Senate was lack-luster, and showed he had no core and no discipline. He couldn't even show up for committee meetings.

America truly dodged a bullet!

I think Kerry is toast as a national candidate. There is a campaign afoot to have him tried for his various offenses in his anti-war years.

John Kerry may try to run again, but he will get nowhere fast. Truth is, the present current Democrat "Traitor" Party is unraveling. The Majority of voting groups went Republican in 2004. The only really solid majority the Democrat Party had in 2004 was Blacks and young voters. A good number of Blacks now realize they threw their votes away. As of the moment they have no political power whatsoever in Washington, DC. The Black Congressional Caucus has become a Black social and meeting club. They have as much chance of infuencing GW Bush as I have of going o the moon and eating swiss cheese. Organized labor is fractured. A large number of "union" households went for Bush because they do not believe in the left-wing agenda of today's Democrat Party (anti-war/hate America). Young voters only went for Kerry because some of them believed Kerry's BS about a renewed military draft. With that issue now de-bunked, they could not care less about the Democrat Party or John Kerry!!! I believe the playing field is very ripe and developing for the Pubbies. We must move forward and take full advantage of destroying the current Democrat Party as it now exists at the polling booth. We need a strong two party system in our country, but we do not need a political party that supports ideas and policies that undermine our freedom, security and our powerful, effective free enterprise system.

I suspect Kerry will run again, but I can't imagine him getting the nomination. I predict Breck Girl will outlast Kerry in the primaries (and that's gonna hurt) but I don't think Breck Girl will get the nomination either. I suspect it's either Hillary or Evan Bayh.

If the Dims are smart, they'll run Evan Bayh.

thanks for both of your links info. Is there a swift boat ping list? If so I would like to be on it to follow through.

I just spent Saturaday at a fun "ping list" thread & truly cn't remember.. will check later.

Backhoe, perhaps you could put the links that are on your profile page so people can easily find them & associate them with you. Also a link to the thread you authored .. just a suggestion.
