A US marine has sparked world-wide revulsion after being seen shooting an injured and helpless Iraqi.
The sickening scene was broadcast by Channel 4 News after a fire-fight in the rebel stronghold of Fallujah.
The trigger-happy soldier had been asked to get nearer to the injured man.
But instead of trying to capture him, the marine is seen leaning over a wall and cold-bloodedly shooting him.
He then turns to his colleagues and says: "He's gone". Coalition chiefs were last night under pressure to investigate the incident
From an earlier report .....
"It is a female ... missing all four appendages, with a slashed throat and disemboweled, she has been dead for a while but only in this location for a day or two," ....
People who do this deserve no mercy. Good job Marine.
NO QUARTER!
...give no quarter was a figurative way of saying take no prisoners
These guys are known for feigning injury and then killing the Liberators.
Saw the same video. Came to the same conclusion. Anyone upset by this has no concept of urban warfare, nor do they have any concern for our Marines.
don't call them "insurgents" or "rebels" anymore, they are terrorists.
BTW
Why is a 'Political Editor' writing this (False) story?
I think that pretty much explains itself.
Based on Kerry's war record (Silver Star) our marine should get the Medal of Honor!
Say what? They already do? Oh never mind. I guess payback is hell then.
They also selectively edited it to try to make the marine look as bad as possible.
And your right, the left will take one incident and try to turn the whole war into it. Like Abu Graihb and Kerry's testimony.
We're not falling for it this time. The country seems to be well behind our boys (and of course it helps to have a true Republican president).
That's NOT the video. It was taken over a year ago in October 2003 and did not take place in Fallujah.
These soliers need to be let alone to fight and WIN the battles. Once again the media is on the side of the terrorists & showing how bad america is.
Nothing to see here. Move along.
Seeing all the people getting beheaded because the Arabs believe they can threaten and get their POW's released --- I think we should adopt a policy of no more POW's.
"Political Editor" makes me think of the "political officers" that used to accompany all Soviet military units, making sure everything was done to the Kremlin's liking. I see little difference here.
Hey UK mirror! Get over it already! It's a WAR!!!!!
There are two videos linked on this thread. The Reuters video shows nothing but the gun fight then one of our guys shooting down an alley and saying "He's done".
The other video has more footage of the same incident:
http://www.informationclearinghouse.info/video1043.htm
There's the gunfight and interview of our soldier. At around 1:20 in one of our guys says "he's wounded in between these two houses". After this is the part where our guy shoots down the alley and says, "He's done".
I fail to see the outrage from this.
Very good point. Also remember if they will forge a document to slander our President they will edit a video to suit their purposes.
Good job Marine. Stay safe.....
Our SOP was to pumpkin head the "body" to be searched for any IED. If the body wasn't clearly "ripe" and didn't respond to commands in the local language then a 230 grain message was sent to the motors. A folding grappling hook and a hundred feet of line then made a remote pull safer.
Presstitutes ........doom on em all.
Did he drag him to a dark room,Put a mask on his own face and join five other masked men to cut the terrorist's head off on live television. The media should just butt out.We have to rid the world of those who would see us all destroyed, We should not make the job more difficult with false, misdirected pity. The news media cares more for crazed terrorists than unborn children.
