Has anyone ordered and seen the Andy Griffith DVD's and VCR tapes crap selling over at RiverinSouthAmerica.com?
I certainly hope this offering is better than that which has passed for quality in the past.
LOL! To the Geraldine Ferraro's of the world, yes.
Those are the 16 episodes that, for whatever reason, have fallen into public domain. The rest of the series is still under copyright protection, and will now be released by Paramount. This WILL be higher quality since the copyright holder is releasing them, and they have an investment to protect.
This new DVD package is straight from the Paramount vault--the complete first season, 32 episodes, all digitally remastered. We've never seen (or heard) Andy this clearly before :)
"N0oo.. I dont think there is any truth to that..."
Okay. If Floyd says it, I believe it.
"We've gotta nip this thing in the bud! Nip it right in the BUD, Andy!" :)
Thelma Lou was a cheap tart. Andy laid more pipe in that town than Waubesha Plumbing.
Great news.
This ol' boy is the grandson of a prominent Mt. Airy Lady. She's gone now but the reruns of the series did so much for her in later years. She rejected the earlier episodes on VHS saying,"The UHF station is clearer than this!"
Right on, Granny, Rest in Peace!
Mine is already in the mail. Might even be here tomorrow.
Another great thing about this DVD package: Every episode is complete and uncut! Some of these scenes haven't been available since they first aired.
Watch your mouth! Nobody talks about Thelma Lou thattaway.
And lest we forget - the "Darlings".
When I was in the hospital for a week and a half I got to watch the
Andy Griffith channel 24/7. There were some odd shows in the mix, especially early on when I had the pain medication running in the IV.
Don't play coy with me. EVERYBODY knows about the Abraham Lincoln-shaped mole on her ...
Will the DVD contain the pilot which was an episode of "The Danny Thomas Show"?
Also, Andy did a campaign commercial for Mike Easley during this most recent election. He was also roundly despised as a collosal drunken ass in Wilmington while "Matlock" filmed there....
I'm looking forward to getting it. I've enjoyed the about 16 episodes I've been able to get, lots of classics particularly with the Darlings. Now, if they'd only do Dragnet.
Sadly no. In fact, there are no extras on this set, just the bare bones--which is fine. 32 chrystal-clear classic episodes for under $30. Can't beat that.
I picked up the "Dukes of Hazzard -- Season 1" DVD set last weekend. They don't make TV shows like they used to.
