The DVD's and tapes you're referring to contain "public domain" episodes that aren't copyrighted by Paramount, hence they can be produced cheaply for a quick buck. They're crap, in other words.

This new DVD package is straight from the Paramount vault--the complete first season, 32 episodes, all digitally remastered. We've never seen (or heard) Andy this clearly before :)

Great news.

This ol' boy is the grandson of a prominent Mt. Airy Lady. She's gone now but the reruns of the series did so much for her in later years. She rejected the earlier episodes on VHS saying,"The UHF station is clearer than this!"

Right on, Granny, Rest in Peace!

Will the DVD contain the pilot which was an episode of "The Danny Thomas Show"?

Also, Andy did a campaign commercial for Mike Easley during this most recent election. He was also roundly despised as a collosal drunken ass in Wilmington while "Matlock" filmed there....

I'm looking forward to getting it. I've enjoyed the about 16 episodes I've been able to get, lots of classics particularly with the Darlings. Now, if they'd only do Dragnet.
