Count the "F's" in the following text:
FINISHED FILES ARE THE RE- SULT OF YEARS OF SCIENTIF- IC STUDY COMBINED WITH THE EXPERIENCE OF YEARS...(see below)
Managed it ? Scroll down only after you have counted them, okay?
How many ?
"I see bored people." Go to bed.
Did anyone catch that I misspelled 'genius'?
Count the black dots.
I counted the first five but for some reason missed the last one. Alzfheimer's, I guess. :o)
How many legs does this elephant have?
Focus on the dot in center and move your head toward and away from the monitor.
You're a drunk genius, Petronski! LOL!
Surely you are overstating. This can't be for real. I got 5 on the first try (missed one of).
See, the thing is, I read. I read a whole lot. I probably read more than pretty much everyone. I read 3-4 books a week and have done so since I was about 8. I figure I've consumed upwards of 10,000 books.(remember though that 50s science fiction was short). I can read an entire book, know exactly what happened to each character in detail and not know the name of the character, perhaps vaguely I might get the name.
Is that bad comprehension? I don't know, maybe it is. I have however takens multiple IQ tests, lowest score I've ever earned was 148, highest being over 170. Pretty much all IQ tests over 130 are useless. My Totalview Assessment score is pegged at 10 for speed, and the rest of the test accurately identifies me. If you ever take totalview, it's very revealing.
My point, other than the bloviation is that I saw 5 when I concentrated. It's very difficult for me to slow down and examine a sentance. I'm an aweful proofreader, but I'm an AWESOME coder. I can write code that will make your eyelids curl :).
As an accurate test, this simple test is meaningless. funny to do perhaps, but that's about it.
Oh and for all the Blue Stater's that are elite and smart, I'm, smarter than you and I voted for Bush!
Come to think of it, I got all F's in school so my brain is probably predisposed to seeing them.
Or try saying "I love falafel" three times very fast without feeling awful.
The only one I got right was the math one, although I thought 5000 at first.
Yep. I'll wager your right.
Actually, I tend to read slow. It's not a part of "lack of intelligence" on my part (although you can feel free to debate that point). I'm sure it's a learning "disability" of some sort, but I just read slow yet retain much more than most once I have read a subject. Lincoln had this same "problem".
Okay, I give the argument to you. I wasn't thinking of that when I posted my last reply. But no one should have been reading the words but just scanning the letters looking for F's.
11. I got it right the first time when I just scanned it. But then I slowed down and tried to analyze and came up with 9, then 12, then finally 11 again!
Oh, I see, how many "es". Smart aleck.
LOL
Actually, I tend to read slow.
I don't for a second think that people that read slowly are stupid.
The slow readers are just slow readers, whatever the reason.
I think that the fast readers will ignore junk words. I know I do.
All those end up in the trash heap when you blow past them.
