Hollywood, We Have a Problem

The famous and the infamous out in La La Land are crying in their lattes over last week's election results. Therapists down in Florida have reported a huge increase in everyday Liberal patients in Florida so upset over the results; they've already termed the phenomenon, P.E.S.T.
P.E.S.T. now appears to have a foothold in Hollywood. It appears the star of Law and Order: Criminal Intent, Vince D'Onofrio, has already succumbed to the ailment, as he apparently fainted on the set in despair over the election and the mandate from his bosses to refrain from political discussions during work hours.
Barbra Streisand (web site) who famously misquoted Shakespeare in an attempt to skewer President Bush earlier this year, has now used statements from Thomas Jefferson when he was John Adam's vice president to basically state, that this evil (Bush's 2nd term) will pass.
Of course, Jefferson was speaking about the unconstitutional alien and sedition acts of 1796 that eventually led to their demise and his ascension as president in 1800. But never mind, we'll let her continue to ramble and use quotes out of context if it helps her get over her case of P.E.S.T.
After all, we are the Party of compassionate conservatism, eh?
And of course, Madonna has weighed in and requested an end to the war in Iraq and removal of all our troops. Madonna is receiving her therapy from the Kaballah rabbis, no pricy therapist for her, she just hands over her "contributions" to the Center and gets the therapy for free, I suppose.
Michael Moore....his case of P.E.S.T. is so severe, relocation to Canada or France may be the only way for him to heal and escape "Jesusland."

What most Hollywood celebs seem clueless about is that they are in a SERVICE industry. WE are their bosses. It is their job (via the industry outlets) to provide us with the entertainment WE want.
IOW, it's about us, not about them. Imagine if you were in a restaurant and your waitress brought you salad instead of the soup you ordered, Tofu instead of the steak and refused to bring out the bread basket.
All the while lecturing you on healthy eating habits, pesticides and telling you that you were fat, ugly and stupid.
Would you even stay for the meal!?! And you wouldn't go back. But Hollywood seems to have forgotten they are just entertainment.
Piano playing chickens, dancing bears and accordian playing monkeys. That is all they are to us. So why do they think that they have the right to tell us how to live our lives?
And don't they get it? We Red Staters have always been very good at entertaining ourselves. If they leave, they wouldn't be missed.
No, I didn't. Was it good? Is it available on DVD?

But you live in the real world where everyone around you does not wait in breathless silence for pearls of wisdom to drip from your lips.
Frankly these people live like the kings of old used to do without even a fool to keep them grounded. They believe their own press and why shouldn't they? Everyone keeps telling them that it is true. You can say "the rich are not the same as your and me," but even if you are rich you generally have someone who says "No" to you and can make it stick. But Hollywood really does breed a whole new type of arrogance and as many of them are second generation stars they didn't even have a childhood where they were not treated as little stars.
I am convinced that they simply have become incapable of seeing it. Or of understanding that not all of us out here love them.
I thought it was excellent and based on historical fact.
The music & scenery are outstanding & anyone who is a Tom Cruise fan will absolutely love it. He has come a long was since Top Gun.

Wait a minute, how about if you just can't stand dragging a razor across your face. I often don't shave over the weekend to avoid the dreaded razor burn.
Pretty funny because I was on Miramar base in 1987 and the pilots there said they wanted to throw Cruise off the deck of the aircraft carrier. From what I recall Cruise said that he could fly the F-14's with no problem. The XO apparently wanted to launch him sans the aircraft.
