Women are cheering the conviction of coldblooded Scott Peterson, a psychopath with boy-next-door looks who murdered his pregnant wife and sent chills through wives and moms everywhere."I think the mothering instinct, knowing she was pregnant, hit home," said Anita, a tourist from Syracuse, N.Y., who rejoiced after hearing the news yesterday. "It made it more devastating."
Peterson's emotionless face also struck a chilling chord with her. She suspected him because "he should have seemed more upset."
A Post survey of Times Square tourists from across America didn't find a single woman who believed in Peterson's innocence.
[snip]
Several observers speculated Peterson's handsome face added to women's fascination with the trial because, on the surface, he looked like a catch. But they saw, too, that behind the suave face lurked a steely killer.

Now Peterson's life can be hell, rather than the lives of the survivors of his victims.
LOL, I saw the title of the thread and thought it was about John Edwards and the election.
Maybe we can move onto other news now instead of a constant watch of this trial!
"mothering instinct", "emotionless face", "should have seemed more upset".
The Law is about evidence - not about "feelings".
I believe Peterson is guilty; but they sure didn't have any evidence of it.
After this trial...more trials.
Heck, I would have given him the death penalty for cheating on his pregnant wife.
It was just another senseless murder, where the victims aren't coming back to their families, and the perpetrator crushed his own innocent family. To the families on both sides there will never be any closure.
No one won here.
Agreed.
In a just world, this animal would have been tried, convicted and executed 6 months ago.
He will make someone a good wife in prison..!
"LOL, I saw the title of the thread and thought it was about John Edwards and the election."
..........me too....time to change my tagline?
purely out of curiosity, why do you believe he is guilty?
I never doubted that the scum did it either. Pretty boy? By whose standards? He makes me ill when I see his face. Fry Scott, Fry.
I sure hope you aren't really an Officer of the Court.
The Belle of the Ball
Me too
THAT was MY first thought as well...
What man: a)leaves his soon-to-deliver-a-baby wife on Christmas Eve; b)in nasty weather; c)to go fishing ALONE d)in San Francisco Bay for a fish that is rare there; e)without the proper gear for catching that fish species?
Also, his obvious preparations to flee, and finally; his wife and baby's bodies wash up where he says he was "fishing".
