militants fought Marines to a standstill

I get steamed whenever I hear this lie repeated. The politicians fought the Marines to a standstill. The militants got severely downsized.

for crying out loud, MSM, the campaign is over, you can stop your kerrymandering the facts in these stories.

Exactly right... there was a belated attempt to find a political solution to the fighting in Falluja. It initially appeared to have worked but later collapsed as the so-called Fajulla-Brigade melted into the hostile population (or deserted).

I've never heard of ANY Marine fighting anything to a standstill. Unless, of course, by standstill they mean the opponent was dead and thus no longer moving. That would be a real standstill.
