>>O'Donnell is the only democrat talking head who makes Bob Beckel look civilized.<<
Beckel is just as hateful (maybe more-so) but with less protruding veins.

As I watch O'Donnel I keep thinking what his old boss would say were he still alive. Pat Moynihan was a Democrat in the days when Democrats were still patriots( I speak of leadership here, not the union guys working the line in the Chevy plant in KC). Pat Moynihan worked with Richard Nixon. Refuted McGovern when he campaigned on a 33% defense cut in 72. Pat Moynihan would drink with and to his political rivals. He had principles from which he would not retreat, and patriotism was one of these. I cannot believe he would feel anything but disgust at his former aide's contemptible rantings.

"I remember O'Donnell being an "okay" liberal a while ago"
---I use to think he was okay too. In 2000, he was very fair and balanced but lately he has gone way over the edge. I'm wondering if he isn't on drugs

Now, you guys be nice to Lawrence. He must have had A hysterectomy not long ago and has obviously forgotten to take his hormones.

I remember that... in retrospect, he seemed to just be 'auditioning'.... now he is really being hateful. He seems 'fed up'.

He's unhinged. A lunatic in need of serious psychiatric help or maybe a shotgun would do. Just another left-wing liberal. He'll be all right after his mommy hugs him.

Aw, don't believe it. In a vast sea of talking heads, O'Donnell finally came up with a schtick to make him memorable to viewers.

"He had principles from which he would not retreat, and patriotism was one of these."Why would a "patriot" endorse Bill Bradley for President and Hillary Clinton for Senator?

As far as being anti gun, he was a NY Democrat not a Texas Reublican Is Giuliani less a patriot because he is anti gun? You may vociferously campaign against him as candidate, but can you say he is not a patriot. As for voting for Social Welfare. Examine his record serving in the Nixon Administration. He developed the term benigh neglect as to what DC should do regarding many social problems. He also developed the concept of society's defining deviancy down to chronicle what he knew, and other Dems would deny, was the degradation of life in urban America. Giuliani's broken windows crime policies have their origins in Moynihan's statement that the decline in urban life could be seen in the handmade signs seen in cars parked on NYC streets, "no radio".
Would Moynihan be popular on Free Republic? no! But I tell you he'd be a lot less popular on DU.

I thnk he could use a good bowel movement.
Always seems to help me feel better.

I don't judge a man by two errors in judgement made late in his life. I was in college when I first read his work. I voted for him for the Senate. We came from the same streets, separated by a generation. Maybe you've followed his life, I don't know, but I did and he was a man of principle and patriotism, as when he flagrantly walked out of the General Assembly of the UN when they voted to equate Zionism with racism, but only after embracing the ambassador from Israel. When is the last time a US ambassador to the UN publicly showed that organization the contempt it deserves.?

He was more moderate when he was in Washington. Now he's based in LA and influenced by the Hollywood crowd. Thus he's lost his bearings in the political world. I suppose that someone who stayed on the Washington scene and had to cope with it every day would have a better fix on things and wouldn't get so manic or paranoid or agitated when discussing politics.
His cousin, Kirk O'Donnell, was a bigtime Democrat and law partner of former DNC Chairman Bob Strauss. Larry O'Donnell worked for Moynihan years ago, and then went off to LA. It's said that he had an uncle high up in the Kennedy administration (Kenny O'Donnell? Larry O'Brien?), but I haven't seen any hard confirmation of that.

Juries do every day. And so do I. His "errors in judgment" started long before his endorsements of those two commies. In 1965, he was front-and-center for racial preferences and equality of outcome. It's no surprise to me that he backed people like hillary. And, no, I don't care if you "came from the same streets."
