Jimmy Strikes Again

MIAMI (AFP) - Former US President Jimmy Carter called Yasser Arafat (news - web sites) "a powerful human symbol and forceful advocate" who united Palestinians in their pursuit of a homeland.

"Yasser Arafat's death marks the end of an era and will no doubt be painfully felt by Palestinians throughout the Middle East and elsewhere in the world," Carter said.

"He was the father of the modern Palestinian nationalist movement. A powerful human symbol and forceful advocate, Palestinians united behind him in their pursuit of a homeland," he said in a statement distributed by his Atlanta, Georgia-based Carter Center.

He said that while Arafat provided "indispensable leadership to a revolutionary movement" and played a key role in forging a peace agreement with Israel in 1993, he was excluded from negotiations in recent years.

"My hope is that an emerging Palestinian leadership can benefit from Arafat's experiences, be welcomed to the peace process by (Israeli) Prime Minister (Ariel) Sharon and (US) President (George W.) Bush, and be successful in helping to forge a Palestinian state living in harmony with their Israeli neighbors," Carter said.

Both Carter and Arafat are Nobel peace prize laureates.

Arafat, who died at a Paris hospital early Thursday, was to be buried at his West Bank headquarters after a military funeral ceremony in Cairo Friday.

Carter "will not be attending the funeral," said Jon Moor, a Carter Center spokesman.

The worst president in American history. Get out of our faces Jimmy.

Absolutely right. Carter was the worst and the weakest. The Carter/Arafat legacy is what we face today - the jihadist Islamic terrorists have grown and exported their terrorism a thousand times over.

I'm resisting the temptation to give Jimmy Carter another powerful human symbol, and I wouldn't even need to use all my fingers.

This just in,

The new Palestinian President, recently
elected to take the place of Yassir Arafat, has come under
fire from Former First Yokel Jommy Carter, "Has anyone
counted the provisional ballots yet?" "We Know there is
some question of unregistered jewish voters stuffing ballot
boxes in an effort to disenfranchise the poor downtrodden,
oppressed palestinian terror fighters for jihad."

Mr. Carter, just back from an election tour d'force in
south america where he certified the election of Dictator
Chaves, was ready to certify the palestinian election till
voting irregularities were discovered in France.

"It all seems to stem from a precinct in a military hospital
in France, combined with mass ammounts of money in swiss banks, I believe a congressional investigation of republican
black bag dirty tricks is in order, and will bring this
information to the appropriate authorities at Salon.com.

Think of what it says about Jimmuh Peanut Carter that he can offer far higher praise for Arafart than he did for Ronald Reagan only five months ago!

Carter, Chirac, and Kofi Annan are issuing raving tributes to the arch-terrorist. They love Arafart far far more than a Ronald Reagan or George W. Bush (who they fear, resent, and detest for opposing their one-world socialist utopia). UN lowers its flag today to half-mast to honor Arafart! These leftist morons deserve each other, but we do not deserve them. What a load of b.s.

Remember the churlish, resentful statement Jimmuh Peanut made when Ronald Reagan passed away (Carter only cited Reagan's political campaigning talents, saying nothing about his ideals, values, or governing performance). Compare the glowing eulogy Annan issues for Arafart with the very perfunctory statement he issued for Ronald Reagan (only 5 months ago), one of the great figures of all time (but not in the eyes of UN-socialists). There's no mention in the UN's brief statement for Reagan about lowering the UN flag to half-mast, of course; I'm sure they didn't do anything other than issue that brief statement.

Now Kofi Annan praised Arafart as a great peacemaker who asserted a "principle of peaceful coexistence" with Israel -- yes, this dreck really came out of the UN Secretary-General's office today! For Arafart, far from accepting any "principle of peaceful coexistence" with Israel, the "Godfather of Modern Terrorism" spent his entire adult life trashing such hopes. It's hilarious that Annan can say with any straight face, "It is tragic that [Arafart] did not live to see [this peaceful vision] fulfilled...." The only reason he did not "live to see it fulfilled" is because he spent his entire adult life making certain that it would not be fulfilled. Annan is a moron.

Kofi Annan (today):
"President Arafat will always be remembered for having, in 1988, led the Palestinians to accept the principle of peaceful coexistence between Israel and a future Palestinian state. By signing the Oslo accords in 1993 he took a giant step towards the realization of this vision."

Kofi Annan in June 2004 (for the great Ronald Reagan):

New York, 7 June 2004 - Statement attributable to the Spokesman for the Secretary-General on the death of President Ronald Reagan

The Secretary-General was deeply saddened to learn of the passing of Ronald Reagan, the fortieth President of the United States of America. He extends his sincere condolences to Mrs. Nancy Reagan, to the family of the former President, and to the Government and people of the United States.

President Reagan will be remembered for his leadership and resolve during a period of momentous change in world affairs, as well as for the warmth, grace and humour with which he conducted affairs of state. The positive and
optimistic attitude that he brought to ending long standing conflicts led to historic agreements on the reduction of nuclear arms as well as advances in
peace processes in different parts of the world.

ANNAN DEEPLY MOVED BY DEATH OF PRESIDENT YASSER ARAFAT

Secretary-General Kofi Annan was deeply moved to learn of the death of President Yasser Arafat.

President Arafat was one of those few leaders who could be instantly recognized by people in any walk of life all around the world.

For nearly four decades, he expressed and symbolized in his person the national aspirations of the Palestinian people.

President Arafat will always be remembered for having, in 1988, led the Palestinians to accept the principle of peaceful coexistence between Israel and a future Palestinian state. By signing the Oslo accords in 1993 he took a giant step towards the realization of this vision.

It is tragic that he did not live to see it fulfilled. Now that he has gone, both Israelis and Palestinians, and the friends of both peoples throughout the world, must make even greater efforts to bring about the peaceful realization of the Palestinian right of self-determination.

The Secretary-General’s deep-felt condolences go to his wife Suha and his young daughter Zahwa and to the Palestinian people.

When he spoke to reporters at UN headquarters, the Secretary-General said that now that President Yasser Arafat is gone, the best legacy that his people can
live by is to engage constructively and peacefully with the international community and the Israeli government and people to make his dream, a dream of two states living side by side in peace, a reality.

"I would urge that we all get to work and really press for the achievement of that goal," he said. He also noted the smooth transition of the Palestinian leadership.
