IN the Second Battle of Fallujah, military operations are ahead of schedule. Our casualties have been blessedly light. The terrorists who haven't fled are being killed by the hundreds. Our troops will soon achieve their goal of eliminating Iraq's key safe haven for terrorists. Our Marines and soldiers have carried the ball inside the 10-yard line. The media's response? Move the goalposts.
The legions of pundits ("Will talk for food") now suggest that a win in Fallujah will be meaningless because we failed to kill or capture the terrorist leadership, because some of the thugs ran away and because Fallujah won't resemble Darien, Conn., by next Sunday.
On Tuesday, as our troops handily pierced the defenses terrorists had spent months erecting, The New York Times carried two front-page stories implying that our forces were facing possible defeat. The Times' military analysis was incompetent and just plain wrong. And the photo its editors ran above the fold showed a Marine curled in a ditch under enemy fire.
It wasn't reporting. It was a mix of anti-American propa- ganda and wishful thinking. Al-Jazeera couldn't have done it better. Now that our troops are winning so lopsidedly that it can't be denied, the Times likely will tell us that Fallujah didn't matter, anyway, that our efforts were wasted. Then Seymour Hersh, the New Yorker's greatest living fiction writer, will follow up with a fairy tale called "Failure In Fallujah."
What's really happening?
[snip]
By fleeing without fighting to the death as they promised they would, the terror-masters discredited themselves. After Coalition leaders lost their nerve last April, the terrorists portrayed themselves as having faced down America's military might. This time, they ran away, leaving untrained recruits to take the bullet-train to paradise.

Super editorial. A must read. Like Paul Harvey would say, "and now you know the rest of the story".
Ther "brave" terrorists, the "fearless" jihadis tucked tail and ran at the sight of the U.S military. They're big on talk and short on manhood. I'll grant they can slaughter unarmed civilians with a gusto. But they are outmatched and outgunned by the professionals of the Army and Marines. Soon we can say "Mission Accomplished." And the Al Qaeda terror masters will have lost their principal base of operations in Iraq. When the chips are down - bottom line, America has the will and the gumption to go after its enemies. Take a look at the famous "Malboro G.I" photo; we're kicking ass.
They can all have sex with the 72 virgins in hell.
God bless our troops! I'm so proud of them.
As for the talkingheads...what else is new? (I just switched channels..couldn't stomach Andrea Mitchell calling Arafat a "man of peace." I guess she forgot about the Munich Massacre, the Achille Lauro, the endless school children this bloody thug blew up.) Barf.
Bingo!
Thanks for the report - Great to hear!
God bless our troops -
Our Marines and GIs are killing lots and lots of mediocre-trained Bad Guys from Iraq, Iran and Syria. Toting 40 year old AKs and RPGs. Leaving a very large hole in their ability to commit murder. And their TO&E.
Who knows how many thousand weapons and tons of ammuntion, rockets and explosives we'll uncover from Mosques, Safe Houses and tunnel caches?
The higher ranking leaders may have gotten away. Or Not. We'll catch up to them later if they have.
Bottom line: Massive loss of life on the Opposition (Bad Guys) side.
Thousands of Coalition and Iraqi lives saved on Our Side.
Jack.
Now on to Ramadi and wherever else the leaders ran off to...
Uh, what did you expect? A bunch of sandal clad, alley gang bangers to hang around and take on an army with tanks, choppers, and artillery? I don't think that's their style of fighting. Just a guess though.
"we failed to kill or capture the terrorist leadership"
this handwring fest by the media and some freepers is hillarious. Consider for a moment, that if a leader has no followers... he is no longer a leader... now his he?
Call it what it really is. The leader's army has been wiped out... and the coward who led them, is headed for the nearest 'spider hole'.
Meanwhile, Allawi the REAL leader of Iraq, the newly vetted Iraqi Army and special forces along with the marines (more and more as partners and then just backup) and armor... can go on to Ramadi, if needed.
One section at a time... Iraq WILL be pacified.
and at some point the PEOPLE will begin to ratt out the bad guys to their own army and police... big time.
"They can all have sex with the 72 virgins in hell."
yea , right.....virgin goats !
"And their TO&E."
What is TO&E? All I can think of is terrorist operations and expenditures, but that can't be right!
I think the Marine has been smoking some camels!
sorry about my last. dug in deeper and it's pretty bad, but it will give you the idea. guess I need to get to bed.
