U.S. Army psyops unit to Fallujah insurgents: "Come and kill us."

Posted on 11/10/2004 3:37:38 PM PST by no.radar

Chicago Tribune, 10 Nov 04 (Excerpt from article entitled "GIs punch into Fallujah center")...

"A U.S. psychological operations unit broadcast a message in Arabic over a loudspeaker in an attempt to draw out insurgents. 'Brave terrorists, I am waiting here for the brave terrorists. Come and kill us. Plant small bombs on roadsides. Attention, attention, terrorists of Fallujah.'"

Related Tribune article also reports of a Humvee with a loudspeaker blaring Richard Wagner's "Ride of the Valkyries," the music used in the helicopter attack scene in "Apocalypse Now."

FINALLY...a war-effort contibution from Hollywood!

"Why in the hell wasn't his family under 24 hour a day protection?"

Well, in all reality, he's probably got a HUGE family. I'm not sure what these folks relationship to him is, I think I heard the women are an aunt, and a cousin? I'm really not sure. But cousin-marriage is a big thing with the Arabs, so I'm sure their concept of "family" is rather larger than ours, and they have bigger families than we do to begin with.

I see you are from Texas, do you know Robert Earle Keene? And his one (at the very least) contribution to ART, the song "Merry Christmas from the Family"? One of the many excellent and true lines in the song goes like this: Fran and Rita drove from Harligen/I can't remember how I'm kin to him

I've got those problems myself, and I'm from some pretty small families.

The postponement of action in Fallujah definately cost some lives, hopefully we won't be making any more of those mistakes, at least. We need to be on the Offensive for the foreseeable future. I think global jihad intends to continue to (attempt at least) to ramp things up. Iraq is their superbowl, their NY, if we insure they fail there, it will be a very good thing.

You're overthinking this. It's the rythem of war for that particular war. It's also a tribute to the Vietnam vets.

I just thought of something. Where is all the liberal outrage and claims of a bazillion civilian deaths in Fallujah?

As I said - I know where you are comming from and do not make you wrong for it - hell we are all human and are all disfunctional in one way or another.

As Rebelbase put so aptly in #119:

"I'm sure Nazis also drank beer and ate bratwurst. Doesn't keep me from enjoying the same."

Rebelbase is not hung up emotionally on beer and bratwurst. This is a healthy attitude.

I abhore what happened to the Jews in WWII and now. I don't get hung up over it. (I have Polish Jews in part of my bloodline).

I enjoy the "Ride of the Valkyries" - have it on my HD and wake to it on days I really want to be pumped up from the git go. I use it for my own ends.

I hate the ACLU - And I celebrate that they can be @sses and raise our hackles in the good ol' US of A.

"OMG, EVERYONE STOP BEING FOOLISH Look, it is a known fact that Wagner was an ANTI-SEMITE."

Who are you? Uncle Leo??

The important thing to remember here is: Bugs Bunny was NOT an anti-semite.

Wagner is good. But I've heard the jihadis can't stand Metallica. A good amp, good speakers and a CD player with Enter Sandman, No Leaf Clover, and a few other choice favoites on a loop setting.

Give 'em some Master of Puppets, Michael Savage's theme song.

"I've seen stories on the History channel where they played Wagner in concentration camps.

Wagner is closly tied to the Nazis wether you choose to believe it or not."

My point is - SO WHAT - if you choose to be hung up over this then I support you in your choice and do not want to hear the whining.

If one chooses to play victim - OK - however I choose not to participate.

Life is short. Don't think so? When you are 62 - as I am - you will look back and wonder - why did I let all that sh*t get in my way and hold me back?

Got it?
