The following page, http://vote.wa.gov/general/status.aspx has the county by county break-down of votes left to count. It looks really good for Dino!

I so badly want Rossi to win. I can only pray our red counties overcame King County this time. If Rossi is Gov and we pick a good candidate, we could have an opportunity against Cantwell in '06.

Still afraid to hope on this one.

Well I was kinda thinking along the lines of the "Wizard of Oz" and I guess that might make Babs the wicked witch of the South.

Latest 11/10/2004 at 4:01 PM...

Rossi: 1,313,600
Gregoire: 1,306,376

That's a 7,224 advantage for Rossi...

This is going pretty much as predicted... Until King County spits out the results of their 46,000 uncounted absentee's (which would favor Gregoire by roughly 8,000 votes), Rossi will continue to climb up and up.

I'm still projecting a Rossi win and it's actually been creeping upwards, now I'm projecting Rossi will win by 4,490 votes.

The upward revisal from my first analysis simply means that the absentees thus far have favored Rossi even more than would have been expected from the Nov. 2 results. That's VERY good news.

And let's say there's 80,000 provisionals... assuming only 25% would be considered "valid", of those 20,000, Gregoire would have to take about 61% of those statewide to surpass that 4,490 Rossi lead. That's even MORE than Gregoire got in King County alone, much less statewide...

So I'd predict that even *with* provisional ballots thrown into the mix, it's still a 90% chance that Rossi will win this thing.

4:44 PM, King County just unloaded about half of their uncounted absentees (21,000 of them, roughly), and Rossi is *still* ahead by 2,876.

Adjusting, I still have Rossi leading by 3,699 after all the counties report, so we're still in the same range, showing Rossi winning.

The latest numbers (5:11 p.m. Pacific) are Rossi 1,324,251, Gregoire 1,320,620. In other words, Rossi leads by 3,631.

Christine Gregoire 1,325,017

Dino Rossi 1,328,611

(Rossi + 3,594)as of 11/12/04 8am

About 2700 votes from Pierce County posted this morning (11/12/04) and the vote was 50/50 - 1344 for Rossi, 1336 for Gregoire.

Projecting trends, assuming the untallied ballots vote in proportion to the already opened ballots (by county) Rossi will actually pick up votes - however, this is a moving target as ballots are stil being received via mail - In King County, another 1,984 ballots were received yesterday (11/11). See http://www.metrokc.gov/elections/2004nov/ballotsreceived.htm for daily updates on ballot receipt in King County.
