NEAR FALLUJAH, Iraq - Iraqi troops have found "hostage slaughterhouses" in Fallujah where foreign captives were held and killed, the commander of Iraqi forces in the city said Wednesday.
Troops found CDs and records of people taken captive in houses in the northern part of Fallujah, Maj. Gen. Abdul Qader Mohammed Jassem Mohan told reporters.
"We have found hostage slaughterhouses in Fallujah that were used by these people and the black clothing that they used to wear to identify themselves, hundreds of CDs and whole records with names of hostages," the general said at a military camp near Fallujah.
He was unsure if the hostage records included the names of any of the at least nine foreigners still in the hands of kidnappers most notably, British aid worker Margaret Hassan, French journalists Christian Chesnot and Georges Malbrunot and an unidentified American worker for a Saudi company.
Good hunting. Stay safe and happy birthday to the Marine Corps!
I hope so too. How can 6000 insurgents slip away from our forces? Falujah ain't Vietnam - not a heckuva lotta covering foliage to sneak away via a 'Ho Cheatin' Kerry trail. I have to believe our surveillance drones and apparatus were monitoring all fleeing traffic. But maybe not. Anybody have any insight into this?
I normally don't waste my time responding to posts that start and end with "STFU," but I draw exception here because you are in obvious need of a spanking.
You didn't have to waste valuable minutes from your busy life conducting a title or subject search or scrolling through hundreds of posts to discover the original article. You only had to spend maybe a second looking at the "breaking news" sidebar to find the prior thread so prominently displayed, which BTW, had nearly the same title as the subsequent post. Even a member of the DU could have found it with only a minimal drain on physical and mental energy. I know that's a lot of effort for busy people like yourself, but being a member of FreeRepublic is not without sacrifice.
The Mods here at FR do an excellent job. But like your local constable, they can't be every place at all times. To a large extent, FR relies upon self-policing among members to prevent vanities from running amok, breaking news from becoming parochial, and repeat articles from stealing bandwidth.
Unlike your post to me, my post to "areafiftyone" was light with a touch of sarcasm and certainly not intended as a personal attack. We even had a laugh about it in subsequent posts. This really wasn't or isn't a big deal, and it certainly isn't worthy of a post from you that starts and ends with "STFU." Have a nice day.
But we put underwear and dog collars on the prisoners at Abu Grahib. We are the true evil ones!
YES! Good call, soldier!

Look, after calming down I agree that the STFU's were bad form. You didn't deserve that and I apologize.
But I still think that with regard to duplicate posts you should mind your own business and let the Mod's do their job.
