We were having a discussion of the whole idea of a second U.S. Civil War. There were a couple of interesting thoughts:

Would the U.N. try to put peacekeepers in conflict areas in the U.S.?

While the states are somewhat grouped, there are many blue areas in the red and red areas in the blue. What do those people do? Move?

One of the coolest points to be made was that this all boils down to where you find your emphasis in our name: The United States of America.

Blues tend to focus on the UNITED part. This emphasizes an all powerful government with the rich being forced to take care of the poor, most decisions being made on a national basis, and the government being the source of benevolence. Government service is best left to the elites, who are better equipped to make decisions for the masses.

Reds emphasis STATES. They understand that our country is a joining of 50 individual entities, each with specific needs, mores, and cultures. They believe in independence and freedom from government with smaller being better. They believe that taking care of the poor is a social responsibility best left to individuals. Government service is an interruption to your real life, not an ultimate goal of your life.

A civil cold war already exists in this nation due to the constant treason and hatred of America from the Left. A civil war between the Left and Main Stream America should not be taken lightly by anyone, Leftist or conservative. The Traitors would have to accept the responsibility of their actions. I wonder if we have the intestinal fortitude to be equally or more ruthless today because that is what would be required to purge America's traitors and enemies.
