My guess is that W passes on the massage, though.

Protocol, nothing more.

Remember, Clinton gave a fine eulogic performance at Nixon's funeral. It's just part of the duties of office.

Pretty much are all the living ex-Presidents going to be there? I understand that Clinton can't stand Carter, go figure.

This isn't surprising. It's become protocol and tradition for the sitting and living ex-presidents (if health permits) to attend the opening of one of these libraries. Besides, all of the presidential libraries built since WWII, except that of Richard Nixon, belong to the United States. They are part of the nationwide network of libraries administered by the Office of Presidential Libraries, which is part of the National Archives and Records Administration (NARA), located in College Park, MD. Even the Nixon library has an affiliation with NARA.

This isn't exactly a head of state event. I don't see why he needs to attend. Protocol has nothing to do with it.

Clinton is an embarassmen to the nation. I wouldn't do one thing to raise his visibility.

I'll bet that Laura & Jenna stay at home.

But Barney can go. He can "water" a few plants.

They should have a wax figure of Clinton in his briefs, since he announced his preference on national TV, McDonald's memorabilia, some AstroTurf from the back of his pickup that he used for spontaneous trysts while Gov. of Arkansas (with the Troopers on the lookout for Hillary), of course the sink from the room off the Oval Office, the impeachment transcripts, the Monica/Linda Tripp tapes, etc. And of course the definition of "is".
