Islamic school set ablaze in Netherlands

THE HAGUE, Netherlands -- Suspected arsonists set an Islamic elementary school on fire Tuesday amid a string of attacks following the killing of a Dutch filmmaker by an alleged Islamic extremist.
Firefighters struggled to extinguish the flames at the burning Bedir school in the southern town of Uden, where someone had scrawled "Theo Rest in Peace" in the building in homage to slain filmmaker Theo van Gogh, but the building was destroyed in the blaze.
Uden Mayor Joke Kersten told Dutch television she didn't know the exact cause of the fire but suspected arson. She said the school had not been the target of prior attacks.
Arsonists attempted to burn down Protestant churches in Rotterdam, Utrecht and Amersfoort in apparent retaliation for the bombing of a Muslim elementary school in Eindhoven on Monday, police said.
Muslim sites have been the target of a half-dozen attacks in the past week. No injuries have been reported and no arrests have been made.
Tensions have been high in the Netherlands in the week since the murder of Van Gogh, who was shot and stabbed in Amsterdam by an alleged Islamic radical after making a movie critical of Islam. A funeral was held for Van Gogh on Tuesday.
In Utrecht, police arrived Tuesday to find that a church window had been smashed and a container of flammable liquid thrown inside. In Amersfoort, several Molotov cocktails were thrown at the outside wall of a church.

What folks like me say here on Freep, and what I would say on the Islamic forums I frequented, is totally different. I think most people here are aware that were currently dealing with the global jihad and Islam by attempting to dilute it, modernize it, lead it towards a 'reformation" in the Christian sense of the word. This is the Bush way. A Machiavellian approach, know they enemy, exploit their weaknesses, and divisions, shites against wahabbi, seculars against traditionalists, Pan Arab Bathists against salafis, play so-called "moderates" (oxymoron, by the way) as allies against the "true believers." Go into the terrorist harboring and sponsoring nations, turn on the lights, watch the insects run, and splat 'em. Wash, rinse, repeat.
I and others know that IF Islam can impose reform on itself ("Biddah" and punishable by death as I wrote earlier, and I have serious doubts it can/will), it will have to be pressured from within as well as from the outside and undergo a bloody struggle... a civil war. I'm fine with that. Nobody kills Muslims better than a militant Muslim. It keeps our losses to a minimum, and theirs too.
But being on Freep is like sitting on the porch drinking beer with friends. We're all yapping knowing that we're mostly among friends... IMHO, if we were the President or high ranking public officials that would be quotes and taken seriously in the Islamic press, we would zip it and half of us (myself included) would visiting Mosques, and trying to rally as many of them as we could, because we know how that serves our purpose.
But we're not. And simply venting a little of what's on our minds...

I don't see any Muslim outrage over the Muslim atrocities being committed in the Sudan --- over 2 million Christians and animists slaughtered in the Sudan, the Arabs killing people so they can take their land. If there was any goodness in the Muslims there should be outrage for the acts their kind are committing over there.

Yes --- I think it's the backlash they're reacting to --- you don't see alot of Muslims speaking out for the atrocities committed on innocent Israelis. And if it's just something about Jews --- that doesn't explain the horror that has been taking place in the Sudan. There is no Muslim speaking out against that either.
About hatred and Koran. The Bible does not say nice things about Jews but Jews and Christians are living and working together all over the world. As will be the Muslims sooner or later.
Do you care to elaborate? All the Disciples were Jews. The Lord Jesus Christ wept over Jerusalem. Paul, in Romans (Chapter 11, I believe), expresses his desire that the people of his birth (the Jews) would be stirred to jealousy and eventually saved... What passages are you making reference to in the Bible that preaches anything remotely similar to the hatred that is spewed out in the Koran? Hatred for sin? - yes. Remorsefulness, over our inability to not sin ('There is none righteous, no not one') - certainly. And certainly our desperate need for a Saviour. But hatred of others? No. You've confused it with another book (that you probably also haven't read) and are parroting the lines of those who wouldn't know the Bible if they tripped over it.

You, as unbelieving extremist of course won't believe in the above described scene. For you the above is merely a made-up drama piece from a Book like many. And yet, Miss Hirshi Ali, I bet my life that you are sweating with FEAR when you read this.
You, as unbelieving fundamentalist, of course do not believe that a Supreme Being controls the entire universe.
You do not believe that your heart, with which you cast away the truth, has to ask permission from the Supreme Being for every beat.
You do not believe that your tongue with which you deny the Guidance from the Supreme Being is subject to his Laws.
You do not believe that life and death has been given to you by this Supreme Being.
If you really believe this, then the following challenge should be no problem for you.
I challenge you with this letter to prove you are right.

While your English is good, much better than my Dutch/German, and Arabic, Sarcasm is very tough, and should best be left to native language speakers. If you follow FR more, it is hard enough for Native Americans to be sucessfully sarcastic, and many will label their sarcasm as such.
