When I titled my book "Conservatives Are From Mars, Liberals Are From San Francisco," I could just as easily have pointed out that liberals are from Hollywood. It really is a different planet from the one most of us live on. To begin with, it is populated with high school drop-outs and drama majors making millions of dollars a year, convinced they should decide h

Wow! Burt is a successful Hollywood writer AND a conservative.
A couple of nights ago, I saw part of a documentary on one of those artsy-fartsy cable networks. It said that many of the behind-the-scenes people in Hellywood were conservative, especially the up-and-coming new generation, who are armed with MBAs.
So I'm heartened. The hippies that currently control Hwood are dying off, just like their brethren in the political world.
Some semblance of balance is in store for us in Hollywood.

Excellent article!
Anytime I see a celeb, I remember a chicken at the fair that could play the piano. Very entertaining, cute and fun to watch, but in the end...he was still a chicken pecking at a piano.

. . .If you do not live in L.A., you cannot imagine the grief that descended upon this community on Nov. 3. How could Hollywood's glitterati not take Mr. Kerry's defeat personally? After all, for the past year, people like Billy Crystal, Whoopi Goldberg, Alec Baldwin, Tim Robbins, Susan Sarandon, and the rest of the usual suspects, had taken time out of their busy, privileged lives to help elect Mr. Kerry. Like children anticipating a white Christmas, they were imaging themselves speed-dialing the White House for the next four, maybe eight, years, inviting John and Teresa to movie premieres and weekends at the Springs. How dare those "folks we fly over" spoil their plans? Rubes 'R' Us got the job done. Makes me tingle all the way to my toes.

If it's any consolation, they can still go back to their usual, intellectually inbred circle and continue to tell each other how "intelligent" they are for regurgitating Moore and Krugman's latest asininities, and how "brave" they are for "standing up to" an Administration that hasn't lifted a finger against them.

If it's any consolation, they can still go back to their usual, intellectually inbred circle and continue to tell each other how "intelligent" they are for regurgitating Moore and Krugman's latest asininities,. . . You really think they read Krugman, or any columnist, for that matter? I'm guessing their knowledge is limited to what they view and hear.
To: Caleb1411
I remember reading an article about Springsteen. After saying he was politically independent, he said he read Maureen Dowd and Paul Krugman. Talk about a contradiction.
