In a show of leniency, a federal judge sentenced a former pediatric physician to nine months of home confinement for possessing child pornography.
Dr. Julius Goepp agreed to a sentence of up to 2 years and nine months under an agreement with prosecutors in which he pleaded guilty to possessing sexually explicit images of children on his home computer. He could have been sentenced to up to 10 years in prison under federal sentencing guidelines if convicted.
Goepp pleaded guilty in August and U.S. District Judge David Larimer gave him a lesser sentence, saying Goepp stopped his illegal behavior and sought counseling months before coming under scrutiny.
Goepp was arrested at his home in a sweeping federal crackdown on Internet child porn called Operation Predator.
"To whom much is given, much is expected," Larimer told Goepp during the hearing. "Never again get involved in this kind of behavior, which certainly is shameful."
Besides confinement to his suburban Rochester home, Larimer sentenced Goepp, 46, to three years of probation and fined $5,000.

I would wonder about the judge...
I couldn't follow the link... I hope when they sentenced him to house arrest they took away his computer... you know... the ONE HE HAD THE KIDDY PORN ON!

Same here. When i hear about stories like this, I think of one of my cousins. She is a cute kid and it makes my blood boil that there are degenerate pieces of filth who victimise children her age. It is enough to push me to violence. If ANYONE ever harmed one of my younger relatives, the scum should pray that the cops get to them first.
This is not just any doctor, this is a CHILD doctor with CHILD pornography!!!
He should be given a long prison sentence, be put on a sex offender's watch list, and have his license to practice permanently revoked.
the article is not very specific as to the actual crimes except that there were images of child porn on his computer.
About 15 years ago, I did an estimate for construction work at a prospective client's house in suburban New Jersey---he was an M.D. , an anaesthesiologist. He wanted to hire me , but a few months had passed and the timing wasn't right with my schedule so I had to tell him he should hire someone from among the other estimates he got. A few years later his name appeared on the local news---an unfortunate young female patient he had given anaesthesia to for surgery had woken up a bit early and felt something and heard grunting and saw him "cleaning up" in the sink in the examination room. He had raped her while she was under. Needless, to say , he lost his license, but a few years later, was back at it at a hospital in Brooklyn, I think. (I'm going to try and confirm this.)

While not everyone in a (name it) profession is hinky or kinky, wouldn't you expect to see:
shoe salesmen as foot fetishists.
pediatricians as pedophiles
morticians as (don't go there)
Considering his profession, this is way more than scary.
