11/08/04 - HOUSTON) An explosion and fire today in southeast Houston injured at least four people in a case allegedly linked to the theft of natural gas.
Investigators say a firefighter and three residents suffered burns during the predawn blaze.
All four victims were taken to Houston hospitals.
Neighbors told investigators they heard a loud explosion at a two-story townhouse.
Fire officials told the Houston Chronicle that the townhome had no natural gas account and the meter at the site allegedly was stolen from a nearby vacant home.
Authorities say a neighboring townhouse also was damaged during the fire.
Oops, they forgot to steal the rubber washers that seal the meter connections.
why the heck does one steal natural gas?
