I downloaded the preview on my laptop last week. Nifty little browser. Any one plan to upgrade to the final "gold" version tomorrow? For what its worth, Microsoft is only planning to upgrade Internet Explorer with a new version of Windows. Open source is definitely the way to go on the 'Net!

I run Mozilla. I am very happy with it. Should I switch?

I'm a permanent Firefox guy now. My wife didn't want to leave IE and I tried several browsers. This one has stuck and she likes it much better than IE.

Open source will run the show in a couple of years. MS stifles innovation.

Depends on what you want. I used Mozilla and switched to FireFox because it cleaner. If you want more bells and whistles go with Mozilla. If you want a very clean, nice, interface then try out Firefox.

Mozilla authored Netscape, its own Mozilla browser and now Firefox. Its really been catching on and open source software has a place in the Windows environment as well on Linux.

This is an awesome browser.. Make sure you check out the "themes and extensions" link under the bookmarks menu. Install "Noia 2 Extreme" It is AWESOME!

I've been running the nightly builds of the program for months.
It is a great browser. I encourage people to download it and whatever add-on extensions to further customize it, as well.

As I always say in these threads: AVANT BROWSER!
www.avantbrowser.com
It's fast, it's slick, it's free, it's more intuitive and customizable than Firefox (to me), and it works with everything. (Whereas Ff snottily turns its nose up at some code it doesn't approve of.)

I'll upgrade...using Firefox now. Does anyone know what's different between the new one tomorrow and the preview version?

Try it and see. It does not disable any browser already installed.

I've tried them all and still like Opera, even though it costs about $30. Played with the new Firefox yesterday, its a bit too barebones for me.

Self ping to remind myself to try this tomorrow. Thanks for the heads up, goldstategop.

This one is gold. I haven't noticed problems with the beta version so its solid. Usually you have a lot of bugs with beta software but not with Firefox. There'll be a lot more downloading once the gold version comes out.

If you are switching from Mozilla to Firefox, I doubt it.
But if you are switching from IE to a Mozilla product, I would recommend it. The only drawback is some links (very few) insist on the IE browser to open.
