WISN-AM (1130) has taken talk show host Mark Belling off the air - at least temporarily - for his use of a derogatory term for illegal Mexican immigrants on his Oct. 27 program.
In a statement read at the usual 3 p.m. opening of his show, an announcer said:
"WISN is adamantly opposed to the use of racially offensive language. As a result of his comment and subsequent actions, Mark Belling is currently not on the air.
"We regret the incident occurred, and we look forward to helping educate the public about ethnic diversity. Our focus is to rebuild relations with the Milwaukee community."
In a statement, Cindy McDowell, vice president and market manager of Clear Channel's six Milwaukee stations, declined to use the term "suspended."
She said "Mark will return to the air. Right now, both Mark and the station are focusing on how we can educate the public on ethnic diversity."

Hm, like Sinclair Broadcasting was a "good conservative network" before the lefties waged thier boycott the advertisers campaign.
This kind of Econo-Terroism MUST STOP. The only way to win this war is to FIGHT BACK! Contact advertisers and assure them they will not be harmed by adverising on conservative stations, and then follow through and support those who stick by our guys.
I've listened to Belling for 11 years, and it would be a major setback for conservatism in Wisconsin if he is permanently removed from the air. The number WISN has provided for comments on "Wetbackgate" is (414) 944-5456. I would also be interested in being involved in a rally to support Mark.

Thanks for the number. I have been trying to call their usual number for days only to get a busy signal. I have called this number and it gives a recorded message on Marks status as of now. You may leave a message of your own, which I encourage all to do. They push us, we have to push back and hard. Lets keep up the pressure.

It should be noted that WISN has for some time aired Sean Hannity from 8-11 pm every weekday. At present, it is airing twice daily. My presumption would be that advertising is probably not worth as much when it airs twice in one day.
WISN has clearly stated that Mark Belling's removal is only temporary. While it is certainly worthwhile to contact them and encourage them to keep him (and I have done so), I don't think there is any reason to believe that this is a permanent solution. They are going to have to replace one of the broadcasts of the Sean Hannity Show eventually. I would think that Sean Hannity himself would object, as it will water down his ratings in the Milwaukee market.
I believe the phrase (R)nold used, "girlie men," is applicable to this bunch of liberal whiners. On his webpage today, Rush Limbaugh has the new official logo of the Democrat Party, a bawling baby. Seems it can apply to all liberal wacko groups as well
The biggest racists out there are liberals. People like The Reverend Al Sharpton and The Reverend Jackson nationally and Michael McGee locally not only bash whites on a regular basis and play the race card anytime something goes wrong, they also engage in anti-Semitism by blaming Jews for perceived black problems as well. Remember The Reverend Jackson's anti-Semitic slurs about New York City and its residents? Don't recall him ever being held accountable ....
I would like to end this column on a personal note. I have been informed by Conley Media and the editors of this paper that this column will continue to appear in its regular spot each week. They have refused to bow to demands that I be replaced. The same message has been given to me by the Conley folks who publish a weekly paper in which I write a separate column and by Hometown Publications, a chain that also carries the other column.I appreciate this support deeply, particularly as it comes at a time in which individuals who want to silence my voice are applying an enormous amount of heat. If those of us with a rightist perspective are gagged every time we err, the only media left will be, well, the Journal Sentinel. Thanks for the support.
