Is there anything Republicans can do to stop Specter?

Beat him in the PA primary?

Whoops! We didn't want to do that, did we?

I am coming more and more into agreement that Toomey should have been the candidate.

This is Mandate. He is a stallion....unlike Sen. Spector who is a gelding.

I dunno why W supported Specter. Perhaps he thought he'd get the favor returned.

This joker has got to go.

We need to get the transcript of his remarks. Could someone with TIVO record the West Coast feed and post the exact language?

Thanks.

What a tool. This guy is the worst RINO on the team. He makes McCain look like another Newt.

Spector's just looking for some of that "maverick Republican" TV time currently reserved for McCain.

Excuse me but, your just coming to this conclusion now? Spectre has made it a life long career to stab his own party in the back...

Spectre must go...NO chairmanships ever...never

----Is there anything Republicans can do to stop Specter?----

SURE, if they have the cojones! They can disregard his seniority, ensure that SOMEBODY ELSE gets the Judiciary Committee Chairmanship, and put this guy out to pasture with Trent Lott.

The most galling part of all of this is that Bush SAVED THIS JERK'S ASS in the spring. And this is how the President is repaid.

SPECTER MUST NOT GET THAT CHAIRMANSHIP.

It was obvious the favor wouldn't be returned; I have absolutely no idea why Specter was supported.

Have to admit, I didn't expect Arlen would stab Bush in the back so quickly. He really wasted no time whatsoever in reminding us all that he was a registered Democrat who only switched parties to get on the ballot.

Specter knows he lost the chairmanship so he has nothing to lose now.

Cutting off his nose to spite his face, kind of like Paul O'Neill did when Dubya fired his rear end.

That's how I see it. It's ridiculous to argue. Whoever sits in the Oval Office is going to set their agenda, regardless of how many people support them.

Stumping for Spector was a huge mistake.
