If she decides to run for President (though I think she missed the boat), he can resign, run as a VP and the seat will be filled by a Repblican (I believe).
The only way the Dems will regain the Whitehouse is by turning pro-life. They want a win no matter what it takes and they can justify it by saying the court knows more about human life now...(Dumb, I suppose...but they have to put the blame someplace.) Kerry tried to pull it off with his "As a Christian, I think it's wrong but maybe you don't think it's wrong"....cra*
I don't think that issue is anywhere near the priority with voters you think it is. This election was won on terrorism and the war against it, not abortion.
The only way they can win is to assign Bill Clinton as DNC Chairman.
He'll "triangulate" their positions so hard to the center that they'll have to run Rat candidates on the Republican ticket.

Actually, they could nominate Bill Richardson - a Hispanic with Washington experience and currently governor of NM. Would put AZ, NV, CO and NM in play - more than enough to compensate for OH. And they wouldn't have to change a single thing about their political philosophy.
Pubbies need to get to work on the Latino vote - even the mindless Dems see that population segment as their future, since they are dead meat in the South.
Realistically, I don't think we have a shot at defeating her, but if we can hold her re-elect numbers to under 50%, it would put the figurative nail in her coffin, as far as higher political ambitions are concerned.
