Keelihor's program on NPR, Prairie Home Companion, is often clever and amusing. But, he has been a scumbag Kerry advocate for some time now. He, like so many of the ultra-left wingers believe that snide and clever glibness is all that is required to have leftie "feelings" wim.
He just read a piece he claimed was by Thomas Jefferson in which Jefferson indicates that the influence of witches will pass, suggesting I guess, that the control of Republican good guys will also pass. There also was some pointed comments about born again Christians and the negative influences of religion.
As I said, I find this program often clever and amusing with good music. I assume, in fact, that child molester Yarrow and Peter, Paul and Mary will be on frequently in the future. But, I don't like criticsm, especially, silly, factually inaccurate criticism when I'm paying for it.
I listened to the first 45 minutes of the show..it's their "Fall Clearance Joke Show". basically, a second joke show after the one they have in April.
Anyway..after the opening theme, Garrison says "The elections over, but it's okay..we're over it, I'm over it (audience tittering). I'm now devoting my time and energy to a new organization...one that supports a Constitutional amendment to keep born-again Christians from voting."
The audience roared.
This is supposed to be funny?
I've listened to Keillor on and off for 25 years. This was the last straw. As far as I'm concerned, that dumocrat fake-Lutheran, anti-American over-verbose buffoon can take his stupid show and show it straight up his Wobegon.
(Sorry, but I'm really angry...)
Keilor is from MN which will soon be part of Canada. Although I think he moved to NYC which will soon be its own country.
Sorry...that "show" should be "shove".
Your indulgence is appreciated.
A face for radio, that's for sure! Lose the hair and the glasses, and he looks like Darth Vader when Luke took his helmet off.
He is actually a two-trick pony. He was the sex-advice columnist for Salon Magazine, writing under the pseudonym "Mr. Blue." He wrote his advice explicitly. Let me repeat this for the incredulous, and I swear to God it's true. Look at the photo posted above and contemplate: SALON MAGAZINE HIRED GARRISON KEILLOR AS THEIR SEX ADVICE COLUMNIST. If that won't make you sick, nothing will.
Not sure why you're replying to me, but I don't "fund" either of these left-wing outfits. My money goes to "Gun Owners of America"...they have a better understanding of the Second than does the NRA.
He has been married how many times? Three? Four?
So when all the media/libs freak out about the "cost" of tax cuts and reforming SS, we can tell them they can do their part. A) No more NEA -- save a little there. B) All the airwaves that ABC/NBC/CBS get for free now are going to be auctioned off to the highest bidder (starting with the NY/LA markets). That could be an OK chunk of change. It would be great to hear them squawk.
Don't know why you listen to Kellior and the MPR. Let them spew their hate, their audience is getting smaller every day.
I'm sure I saw his face in the D.U. members gallery. About 5 or 6 times.
How much you want to bet 'Proud to be a Canadian' isn't from Alberta?
"Elitist pr!ck" are the words that come to mind when I think of this...this...this elitist pr!ck.
GK did a fine job of it himself. He was out of it!
So she was really pretty ?;O)
Stay Safe !
I interpret this as saying that Hillary will not run in '08.
Now that I have more time, I will post some, too. But today I want to share something inspiring, part of a letter from Thomas Jefferson. This is from the new Bernstein biography of Jefferson. Jefferson sent the letter in 1798 after the passage of the Sedition Act:
"A little patience, and we shall see the reign of witches pass over, their spells dissolve, and the people, recovering their true sight, restore their government to its true principles. It is true that in the meantime we are suffering deeply in spirit, and incurring the horrors of a war and long oppressions of enormous public debt. If the game runs sometimes against us at home we must have patience till luck turns, and then we shall have an opportunity of winning back the principles we have lost, for this is a game where principles are at stake."
In his picture he looks like an old drag queen I never listen to him is he a guy man?
I don't know. I don't want to think about it too much, but if I did, I would guess that he figures having been married repeatedly must make him an experienced lover. :-p
Well we do "fund" NPR in a sense. It is tax supported, so we make an involuntary contribution every April 15th.
