"It's all but official: Turnout in the 2004 election was the highest in 36 years.

The Committee for the Study of the American Electorate estimated that 120.2 million people cast ballots Tuesday, a figure that translates into a 59.6 percent turnout rate. That's five percentage points higher and 15 million more voters than in 2000, the group says -- and the largest turnout since the 1968 election."

I doubt the Pres. gets 61 million. Remember 1% or more of paper ballots are "spoiled" and can't be counted.

Certainly a fair percentage of uncounted ballots to date will fall into the category

Maybe all those kids DID get out and vote after all. Maybe they voted differently than some people expected.

I understand CA never counts absentee ballots if the margin of in-person votes exceeds their number. Is there any way we can ever get a clean read on CA votes? Do other states do this as well? When will the PA military votes be in and counted?

Anyone know ?

Without a doubt that is a possibility that the Dems refuse to face because it portends that the next generation is far more conservative than expected, thereby relegating liberals to the ash-heap of history.

Young voters are more conservative than the news media says. They turned out in droves for Reagan, and it might be true this time as well. They're looking at exit polls to see how people voted, but as we know now, they're corrupted and unreliable.

Those 8 million extra votes didn't all come from evangelical Christians.

As someone who is in the under-30 age bracket, I think that may be more true than a lot of liberals and the media would like to admit.

Your point is correct, but there's another way to look at it, whuch also doesn't bode well for the Dems...I'm not an analysts, nor a statistician, but taking a quick glance at the numbers seems to indicate that more than 60% of the Dem turnout in the youth vote came in the blue states..which doesn't do one thing for Electoral votes..Also..2008 is the LAST presidential election this decade..then we have a census, and reapportionement, and you may well get another 7-10 EVs shifting from Blue to red states..which will make the electoral math almost impossible for the Dems..

I was hoping that the Kerry people would have carried out their rumored plan to declare victory and send their snarling lawyers to every nook and cranny to challenge the vote. I was looking forward to the 'rats dragging this country into the mud thus further alienating more people against them......

For you see....I want to see the utter and final destruction of the current 'rat establishment. I want Michael Moore and all the rest of the hollywood crowd out of our country! I want Kennedy, Schumer, Clinton, Reid, et al to have no power except for their one vote in the Senate.....I want Pelosi and the house democrats never to be able to sit on any committee....and be powerless except for their one vote out of 435.

I am one who would rejoice over the total destruction of the 'rat party.......

When will the PA military votes be in and counted?

A judge just ruled on Friday that they have till the 15th to get in. When will they be counted? After that, I would hope!
