Map day has become Map Weekend!

Here they are in all their cartographic glory: All the election map post-mortems. (They were just lying around the internet gathering dust anyway).

These graphic representations of the election's outcome are thought provoking.

The world map is crap. Japan and Australia are Bush backers; "Red" Saudi is simply wrong.

Look at it this way.

Every planner for every party will be looking at maps like these because this is where the real info is revealed. Only boobs like you think this stuff is "crap".

It's not crap. It's a map of partisan dreams.

"AppeaserLand" is pretty good, but the name I prefer myself is "StalinLand".

Bush won this election fair and square. The Democrats feel the popular vote would be best and throw out the EC. Do you want the city mice to rule over the country mice all the time? The EC worked well for Clinton when he was elected and the Democrats didn't complain! What's the problem?

How can you say that cities are underrepresented by the electoral college vote? The rural voters can barely hold their own as it is.

Thre first 8 maps are - or should be - interesting to everyone. The rest? Well...they do say something. Maybe not what the blogger intended, but something.

Anyway, his idea of presenting all these maps in one place is a really good one. I'm searching for more now.

Can we PLEASE get the county-by-county one in a nice large size (couple of Mb jpg) so that I can print a sweet looking cube-hanger to drive the libs nuts?

All the maps here are dinky lil jpgs that look like poo when you print them at 11x17 scale.

Thanks!

This map's accompanying statistics is the most revealing and yet, to my knowledge, totally undiscussed and unexplained.

How is it that the population of Kerry counties is 103.6 million, the population of Bush counties is 150.9 million, and still Kerry's 48% of the vote provides only 4 million less votes than Bush's 52%. The math of this means that while Kerry "country" population is only 69% of Bush "country" population, the votes cast for Kerry total 92% of the votes cast for Bush.

What explains such a higher percentage of votes to population in Kerry "country"? Everything I know about the demographics of large urban centers should have Kerry "country" with a lower percentage of eligible voters. These demographics include higher percentages of alien (illegal and legal), higher percentage of single mothers with multiple children families and higher percentages of criminals (both serving jail sentences and released after completion of sentences).

Any ideas or suspicions?

You've posted all the maps with the key liberal bias. That makes your thread a petty attempt at propaganda....crap.

Then post more suitable maps. Stop whining, Petronski.
