Which Fox News anchors/reporters/pundits/hosts do you think are really, sincerely right-leaning? (VANITY)
We probably all prefer Fox News over CNN, CNBC, the network news shows, etc.
But I was wandering as I was watching the election night coverage and Brit Hume seemed so giddy with excitement when Bush started to pull away - what are the true political leanings of the Fox News staff?
My take:
Bill O'Reilly - Basically a slightly left-leaning Libertarian redeemed by a belief in a vigorous American foreign policy and a sneering content for the MSM
Brit Hume - love the guy....with us 100%, I believe...I LOVED the way he interacted in such an over-the-top way with Susan Estritch on election night basically wiping her face with Kerry's loss....
Fred Barnes - same as Brit, 'red' to the core....but fair and honest in his analysis..
Shep Smith - seems to also take glee in Democratic pain but not so sure....his very patriotic stances make me think he's one of us, though...
Sean Hannity - no issues with Sean....
Morton Kondracke - middle of the road leftie but fair....
Greta Van Susteren - big time left winger if I had to guess...
Juan Williams - leftie....no doubt about it....
What do you all think???
TONY SNOW...RIGHT
Brit Hume, Fred Barnes, Neil Cavuto, Sean Hannity, John Gibson, Tony Snow, Charles Krauthammer, Bill Kristol (pains me to say that, but the criteria is "leaning"); Linda Vester, Heather Neuert... are there other women?
I was surprised, but very happy when Major came to FOX.
Brian Wilson is another righty (from Texas). He fills in for Tony (has anyone mentioned him yet?) and Brit some times.
I think Eric Shawn is another one and did a great job of pursuing the Oil for Food Scandal!
I think Shep is pretty middle of the road. He is a good 3 o clock anchor thats for sure. I miss him since I'm in the only NYU building that dosnt carry Fox News (WHY!! The rest of the school does!)
The curb job thing will always remain in my memory hah.
Neil Cavuto is hysterical and a huge Republican. He dosnt seem to be a big mid-western republican but a north eastern Republican. Big on Business. I'm sure though that he carries a decent amount of the souther and mid-western Republican values (as most of us North Eastern Republicans do)
O'Reilly is definetly conservative. He calls himself a Tradionalist and is always fighting against the ALCU and their crap. On other issues he takes some left-leaning or middle of hte road leaning stances. But that certainly dosnt detract from the over all charachter. Hes just another North Eastern republican like person.
I dont know her name but she has a show on Saturdays and fills in for Neil. She seems similar to Neil but maybe not as gung-ho Republican as he is.
Lorie Dhuh is definetly a huge babe though id have to say!
About Scarborough on MSNBC... during the summer and what not he definetly like left his Republican roots. I was severely disapointed. He always seemed to be the one with common sense though on the Hardball panels after debates and what not. He also came out strong after the election. He should stay on MSNBC -- he brings some balance to that mess.
You guys were talking about Rita, is she still even on the network? I remember she used to be a part of the primetime lineup but I cant remember when and when she was taken off. I never watched her though.
I like Mort better than Fred. Somewhere along the line they switched from having Fred start the conversations to having Mort go first. I think it was a wise move and shows I am not the only one who thinks he does a better job. He may be a middle of the road leftie but I'll wager he voted for Bush.
Rita seems to do indepth reporting on big stories. She has an hour long program Sat @ 9 PM
"Bill O'Reilly - Basically a slightly left-leaning Libertarian redeemed by a belief in a vigorous American foreign policy and a sneering content for the MSM"
Bill is a Billitarian, a Billocrat, a Billpublican, a Billolist. Bill's ideology is Bill. In his mind John Kerry lost because Kerry wouldn't give him an interview. Seriously, the guy laughs at his own jokes. He asks his guests for validation "am I right? I'm right aren't I." And then at the end of the show he pimps his own merchandise and subscription web site. Sure, its for charity, but this guy allegedly just paid out a X million dollar law suit. He can afford to make donations with his own scratch, and not hit up his viewers to make him look generous.
David Asman (the 10:30-12:00p) is also right of center. Him I adore, and he has a son in the Corps. I miss seeing his segments now that I am back at work.
I like the judge. I think he's bright and seems to be fair (and lean to the right).
Mara and CiCi are liberalto the core.
I can handle Mara easier than CiCi - she is very far left IMHO and writes for the WA Post, I believe.
Charles Krauthammer (sp) writes for the WA Times and is GREAT!!!
I couldn't agree with you more about Geraldo "The Fake". Automatic channel change when he comes on. I'm wondering how he has a job, what is his value to the FNC?
Greta, "Clutch Cargo", is in the same boat.
I tend to agree w you. I think Chris does try to be fair (though I liked Tony much better on Fox News Sun)
He certainly is one of those people you either love or hate.......nothing inbetween. I love him!!
I can't think of his name right now, but isn't he the guy that used to be on that legal show w her on CNN?
Sorry, clee. I have heard her say many times "Dems like me....." etc.
On that Saturday morning show, she's always very pro-Bush.
THAT one has got my vote, but all three on the weekend are useless.
Not sure about Greg, but my guess is he leans to the right (if he didn't before, I bet he switched after being an embedded during the early part of the Iraq war (and getting slightly injured, too). His dad is the Police Commish of NYC and I feel he's probably a moderate conservative.
Kelly Wright is pretty good, too. I have the feelings he leans somewhat to the right of center.
Even if he is an Ole Miss grad, he's mostly ok...
