A Jeannette woman who was slightly injured after being struck by a train while walking along railroad tracks sued Norfolk Southern Corp. Thursday for failing to warn pedestrians that trains travel on tracks.
Patricia M. Frankhouser, of 910 Scott Ave., is seeking an unspecified amount in excess of $30,000 from the Norfolk, Va., rail transport company for the Jan. 6 incident that left her with a broken finger, cuts on her hand and pain, according to the suit.
Greensburg attorney Harry F. Smail Jr., who represents Frankhouser, didn't return a call seeking comment.
Within the filing, he argues that the railroad was negligent for failing to post signs warning "of the dangers of walking near train tracks and that the tracks were actively in use."

You might just teach a old dog some new tricks, but, you can't teach a liberal any kind of intelligence or logic.

This situation will only get worse. Thousands of deaths to be expected if high speed train program implemented in the US at taxpayer expense.

Attorney Harry F. Smail Jr. should be disbarred for bringing this frivolous lawsuit to court.A woman's right to choo-choo.

Does she also need to be warned that cars use roads and that washing machines wash clothes?

Can I sue nature for obviously failing at natural selection by letting this woman live?

Her motives are to SUE SUE SUE Of course. She's pulling the equivalent of a "slip and fall", except she's suing a railroad instead of, say, a grocery store. If you are hit by a train (!!) and walk away with only a few minor scratches and bruises, that means you were trying to get "injured", but not badly.

That is correct, if she and her attorney continue their antics, the feds should charge them with criminal trespassing.

Wow, getting only slightly injured from a train hitting you. Now that's a one in a million shot.
Next time she needs to try harder.

Listen to this one! Last year an Asian woman decided to lay on the subway tracks in New York. The train tried to stop and ended up severing her hand. What does she do? She sues the NY subway and the court awarded her 10 million dollars for injuries/pain and suffering! Unbelievable!

In that case, the judge, the jury , are more stupid and dumb than her.
They all, ( that woman, judge, and jury ) were liberals . Is it any wonder BUSH needs to appoint new judges in this country, and voters need to elect new judges in the states.

maybe the rumble of an approaching train There's the problem of people listening to a Walkman with earphones and the volume really blasting. A couple of kids in Framingham, Mass. got killed that way about 15 years ago.
