Take this, Chirac!
I think Russians intuitively understand that the Democrats are communists and they know what communism is like and don't wish it on anybody.
One of my Russian friends told me that "Communism is the longest hardest road from Capitalism back to Capitalism."
Yep... the Russians know Bush is the true heir of their Great Liberator, Reagan.
Very good find and post!
In the coming years, our relationship with Russia will be the most important and significant part of our overall foreign policy.
I am hoping that despite the crackdowns by Putin, Russia will move towards a stable democratic government absent its overwhelming corruption.
Russia can play a large role in our global war on terror.
The interplay between the US, Russia, and China will get interesting as China starts to flex its growing economic, political and military muscle.
Isn't it very interesting, that the MSM media was telling us all about the nasty articles that were written about Bush's victory in some parts of Europe and was totally silent about the reaction of the Russians and their media.
I liked this quote:
"Politics sometimes makes for strange bedfellows, and Komsomolskaya Pravda published a quote from prominent human rights activist and harsh Putin critic Valeria Novodvorskaya in which she backed Putin's pick.
Asked who she supported in the election, she said: "The Republicans. They don't give anyone money for nothing and tend to act decisively to defend freedom, and not only at home. Bush rid Afghanistan of the Taliban and Iraq of [Saddam] Hussein and promised to deal with Cuba. And Kerry showed pure demagogy."
I think Russia is already playing a large role in the War on Terror, it's just not being publicized.
I read that Russian special forces are hunting Bin Laden also.
Isn't this true for all those European countries that hate Bush? Does the U.S. really interfere with how Germany, France or Britain conducts its affairs, save for providing them with our relative success an object lesson in the follies of socialism?
Horseradish tastes great on a roast beef sandwich...
Mmmmmmmmm....
I liked it too.
I liked it too.
I think they meant that the Democrats keep harping on "human rights", even for terrorists. I think it was a hint the way Clinton was trying to stop Putin from dealing with the Chechen terrorists, who turned out to be aligned with Bin Laden and Al Qaeda -- don't forget the Beslan school massacre.
Remember, it was Carter's constant harping about "human rights" for the radical Islamists and pressure on the Shah of Iran, a steadfast friend of the US, which caused the fall of the Shah and resurgence of the extreme version of Islam.
My barber is a Russian (Ukraine) immigrant. He and his entire family strongly support Bush. He feels that Bush is the only candidate who could provide freedom and security.
Inside, many Russian people identify with the goals to bring peace and freedom to Iraq, although there is still some resentment, albeit jealosy in some Russians. I think, in time, this will subside.
Putin and Russia's leaders understand Bush will continue to kill Islamic Terrorists. Since Russia is number three on the Islamic Hate list, they understand killing terrorists is good for Russia.
Russians have more respect for those who know who they are, live by their morals and never waiver when difficult decisions must be made. They also respect faith and traditional family values. Bush's resolve and belief in himself is very appealing to Russians, while Kerry's relativism, need to please and be accepted by everyone repulsed them. Russians are good at sizing people up, and respect strong steadfast leaders who know good from evil.

Well said!
Condi is a Russia specialist. Condi for Secretary of State.
I predict that Putin and "W" will get together and bring others in for a United group of civilized countries working together in a concentrated front against the barbarians....
these barbarians are in every country - their target is "the Infidel" which is EVERYone NOT their fanatical medieval form of Islam...We can't continue fighting them in country by country skirmishes - we must from one giant front....
Putin was just itching for a W victory, so he can start retaliation against the Chechen terrorists...
I'm no clairvoyant, but I see a mushroom cloud over Grozny in the future.
And to Putin: Good hunting, tovarich!!!
This is for those on FR who so love to defend the oligarches!
