How about only the blue counties of California...

Can we build a hugh wall topped with electrified concertina wiredown the border??!!!!
Oh, just great. They secede and the next day apply for foreign aid from US.
I myself will help chainsaw the entire state of Calicommiea from the rest of the US, float it out to sea and watch it sink in it's own smug, condescending hubris and arrogance.
I lived in SF 4 years and hated it. LA is still somewhat cool, but bad traffic.
HE77 NO!!!
California is a beautiful state. Put the Leftists on boats and send them down to Cuba, where they'd be happier, and then the conservatives can get away from places like Sea**hole and all its citiots and live in a nice, warm, sunny state. Come to think of it, put the Sea**holes on the boats, too. I'd be able to tolerate the rain and wouldn't have to move.
Not surprising. Like little babies in a pickup game of basketball, they whine and stomp and complain when they don't get their way. Then they threaten to take their ball and go home.
Why do I still live in this area?
Look at an electoral map. Most of the state is okay. It's just the Bay area, and the LA area.

Wow,
I know this post is a joke but I've live in the East Bay all my life and it is still a great place to live.....It is really S.F., LA. Oakland and Bezerkely that are the flaming liberal idiots....the rest of the East bay my br more demo but not flaming liberals......most of calif is somewhat conservative, after all, we did vote to make marriage between man and woman and voted for no benefits for illeagal aliens though it was ruled unconstitutional by the left wing supreme court.........hey, i believe Illinois and New York and the New England states had a higher percentage of votes for Kerry than California........they are much much worse than the ENTIRE state of california.....there, that is my 2 cents though you are totally right about the city fo SF.........nice place to visit actually but i wouldn't want to live there for sure
Well, they can secede as long as they are willing to put up with the house burning and the silverware stealing that goes along with it. They set the precedent. March to the sea, through Massachusetts.
In all seriousness, California is a BIG problem. Within the next 20-30 years, it could swell to 70 or more electoral votes. Any candidate who wins this state has 25% of what he/she needs. This is pretty disturbing.
I agree with NetSurfer - only half of California needs to succeed - the western half! My county voted for the President, 62%! Better than many Texas counties. I am sick of the Republicans writing us off. A few years back there was an initiative to split the state - north and south. It should have been - east to west. Look back to CA history - CA originally wanted to join the Union as TWO states, but they were not allowed to because of the slavery issue. The wimps in Congress wanted to keep the pro-slavery/against-slavery factions evenly divided so they wouldn't have to deal with the issue. It's time to DEAL WITH IT! At the very least we should have an initiative that splits our electoral college vote based on popular vote. The dems are always screaming about "DISENFRANCHISED VOTERS". How about the millions of conservative CA voters who never have their vote counted in national elections?
I am all for it. I have been saying for years that CA needs to be kicked out of the Union. One state with 55 electoral votes and ideals that seem to come from Mars is dangerous.
No offense meant to any Californians who don't fall into the "Mars" crowd.
They can have San Francisco. Take down the bridges connecting to the mainland and they need a passport to visit the mainland...
This site is called "US out of San Francisco." It lists a petition site seeking to allow CA or just SF, I'm not too clear, to secede. What is the point, these people would be too chicken to defend their country.
I love liberals. California's loss would be no big deal to the country. Bush was re-elected despite the opposition of the people of this state to his Presidency.
