Vanity: How can President Bush reach out to the 48% of America that voted for Sen. Kerry?
2 examples, "tax cuts for the rich" I hear so much wrong information, they have to explain that any across-the-board tax cut will always benefit those that pay more taxes and those that pay no taxes will not benefit. Instead they believe there is some "secret tax-cut" that the rich are getting that us peons don't know about.
The same with the privatize social security, many, many people think this means having a private company administer social security and all the crookedness that would entail instead of having part of your social security invested in stocks, bonds and other things. People already invest privately for retirement without fear but they don't know that that is what "privatize SS" means.
Sounds stupid sure, but ask around, people believe this stuff and vote that way. If the people are not informed and instead swallow lies there can never be unity.
AMEN TO THAT!
And what a lovely image that was. Truly pathetic.
Time will take care of some of it.
How many times can Dems say, "This time they're REALLY going to take your Social Security away!"?
They know what the platform is - they can come or not.
They do not have the option of changing it - they didn't earn the right nor do they have the power.
I see it another way.
Without the bloating by the Congress and the fillibustering of the Conservative justices, he would have gotten 63% of the vote.
YES!!!
None of the swing voters we had contact with during canvassing and phone banking mentioned spending in Congress and Democrat filibustering as reasons why they were not supporting Bush.
Resent all you want, truth is simple. Republicans by and large go to church and believe in God.. Democrats by and large don't believe in god and don't go to church at all, or don't go regularly... Those are the facts.. you don't have to like it but its the facts!
Dems when you get them to talk honestly desire to turn the nation into a "secular" social republic, that's the facts jack... Don't get mad at me for knowing them.
Obviously, you've completely missed or misunderstood my point. I don't resent any number of Republicans who go to church or believe in one god or another. What I resent is the arrogant attitude is that it's an exclusive club, and the rest of us aren't invited. It's patently false. The GOP hasn't failed to cash one of my checks yet.
Melas, and you have completely misunderstood my point, by looking to be insulted by the fact you are atheist.
Democrats desire a "secular" read godless social democracy, that's their end goal, pure and simple. And those people need completely shut out, they do not represent the main stream of america. Those that get it in the democratic party, the serious ones, Bush should reach out to, but those that wish to turn the US into Belgium should be shunned and ignored as the irrellevant toads that they are.
You'd think you'd get a clue after the moderator removed the first one.
Don't repost that again. Thank you.
Well, we'll never see eye to eye on this one. I respect your religious leanings, and would defend them to the death, but I'd be lying if I said it would break my heart of more people saw the light and gave up on religion.
Well we are not going to see eye to eye on this one..
In my experience there are only 2 folks who turn their back on God... the young who are too naive and arrogant to accept him, and those who have been damaged in some way in their life by psychological trauma, usually but not always, when they are young.
Those that feel religion is the "opiate of the masses" are lost souls. This is the stand of the communist, who need God removed so they no longer need to worry about the accounting for their actions, or worry about accounting to a higher authority and those that know it for their actions.
I've lived to long and have seen to much to remotely be arrogant enough to agree with you on the topic of God. We are not the random happenstance of events in the cosmos.
We are not going to ever see eye to eye on this one.
