She would have had to have had one hell of a crystal ball. She's been in Iraq for some 30 odd years now.
Sorry, but I disagree. From the reports I've heard, she's an aid worker, and someone who's been helping the most vulnerable in Iraqi society for years.
I hope that there's a special place in hell reserved for the sort of things that capture, torture, and brutally murder decent people.

I feel terribly for her. She obviously is pretty naive about her place in that world and her current circumstance. But now she should not be like a cringing whipped dog, it just brings on more torture. These people fear and loathe women, Christians, Jews, Hindus, well, the list just goes on...
Guess that's true of every hostage that has been beheaded by these terrorists since I think all of them have been civilians and not military. Guess you think they all deserved their treatment since they either volunteered or accepted a job.
Don't blame the victim, but the perpetrators. They have beheaded citizens of many nationalities who have come to rebuild Iraq and assist Iraqis, in much the same way that our troops are doing. Mrs. Hassan is apolitical and has been in Iraq for more than 30 years. She deserves our sympathy not our condemnation.
That's unkind and unnecessary. This woman is trying to make her world a better one. And she's willing to take risks to do so. If more people did that, it probably would be a better world. God bless her. I hope she's released without further harm.
I still feel sorry for her. Misinformed and wrong, but she's still a human being.
