After Action Report-Operation Social Strike San Francisco, CANov 3, 4:30 pm
The day started off horrible. If anybody has been watching the national news, you might have noticed it stormed out here. It was raining when I left. I figured, since I set up the protest, I better show up and let people know they can go home. I felt like it wasnt worth braving the storm, we made a great showing out here in CA in the polls and I felt countering this in the storm wasnt worth it.
To my surprise, almost everybody who said they were coming did! They were willing to possibly brave the storm (and we're talking rain and hail here)! We gossiped down in the Bart station (talked about our Victory parties we had!) where we were meeting. When it started getting closer to 5:00, which was the America-haters meeting time, it was nice and clear out, although a bit cold. There ended up being about 15 of us all together. We decided since we were all there, we might as well drop in on the America-hating, Anti-Israel, Anti-All-That-is-good-and-honest crowd and show our support for the war and our overwhelmingly re-elected President. We moved in and took a spot towards the side. We were immediately greeted by the opposition. I could tell they were happy to see us!! We spent some time hanging out and debating some of the opposition. I must say, I met a few really great people from their side, which was a complete surprise (and I have been doing this counter-protesting pretty frequently the last couple of months). There were some very fascinating intellectual conversations. Of course there were many more intellectually bankrupted people there.
After an hour, the peaceniks decided it was time to march. The way things were going we couldnt pass up the chance at some more mingling. A couple of people decided it might be a little dangerous and went home, but about 12 of us decided to brave the crowd and we marched after all. There was a lot of anger around. I got spit at, which is nothing new for us protest warriors, but being a big guy, I have never been spit at myself! Myself and another pw got surrounded by some anarchists who held hands and tried to stop us from marching. I dont know what they were thinking in picking out the biggest guy in our group, but thats what they did. I just walked through the little punks. The cops were close by and called for some more cops to keep an eye on the anarchist punks. We also had the how come you arent fighting in Iraq comment and when I would break out my being an Air Force Veteran, they never had much more to say after that. Sometimes they would come back with, why dont you go back in and I would respond with I fougth for freedom of speech and how many of your people have served their country? They never had much to say after that, accept pure ignorance. We started feeling more and more anger from the opposition and cut our march down about 5 blocks and took an earlier bart. Overall it was a complete success. Thanks to all who came out. We had quite a few new faces. Hope to see you all again in the future. Oh yah--------- FOUR MORE YEARS!!!!! GOD BLESS AMERICA!!!!!!!!!! THE SILENT MAJORITY HAS SPOKEN!!!! 59 million loud!!!!
Thanks for being there and for the report.
REALLY?! Gee, when we have storms vanilla ice cream falls from the sky. Dummy.
PS, just kidding. :P

BG, your a something!! You fought for your country and you continue to do so. thanks. San Francisco needs to be taken back, it's so beautiful there.
This is the first I've seen of your group. Didn't know we had our own San Francisco Branch of Protest Warriors! Saw the anarchists on the 11:00 News. Of course they chose to show the Bush Burning effigies. So glad to know that you were their to represent Conservative San Franciscans! Thank you!!
Great Job!

Next time tell them: "I fought for your right to protest".
Large brass ones. Bravo, sir!
You guys are awesome. When my kids are a bit bigger, we may come up and endure one of your gantlets. If you want a public debater on environmental and regulatory issues, I can get that done.
Nice job, folks!
I saw the Moore-ons on the morning news.
Great work, bg. Thanks for serving. What did you do in the Air Force?
You ROCK!
Thanks!
Yep, it's all true. Todd even understates the nastiness of the nastiest of the nasties. Still, like him, I met several sincere and respectful liberals who were genuinely interested in discussing the issues with a conservative. One young man in particular who was an undergrad at Cal seemed to have simply never heard our President defended in person. I spoke with him for 15 minutes or so and am sure that it was a worthwhile effort. I too was once a young campus leftie who had never heard conservatism explained. At any event like this it is the "black bloc" type crazies who get all of the attention (and you do have to watch those types because they ARE dangerous). But mixed in with these leftie crowds is a significant minority of intelligent, decent, well-intended folks who for one reason or another have not yet been exposed to our conservative philosophies. I think it is a very useful public service to attempt to gradually peel off these decent folks from the hard-core totalitarian socialist maniacs. Plus it's fun to gloat and yesterday San Francisco was schaudenfreud city, baby!!!!
Protest Warriors are amazing........!
Thanks for the report. You guys are always such an inspiration to me.
We need pictures of that.
Ask them why they're not human shields in Iraq.
Why did they send human shields to protect Saddam and when terrorists drive car bombs into crowds of children, none of the brave peace loving, anti-war human shileds can be found?
